The C280 is one of the most
underrated sport sedans out there. In
straight-line acceleration the 194-hp
(199 lb-ft torque) inline-6 easily
surpasses the 3-series BMW and
Audi A4. At cruising freeway speeds
of 100mph+ it feels as stable as 65.
The build quality is bank-vault solid;
every thing else just feels flimsy after
you drive a Benz. I bought mine at
78k and at 136k the only major
repairs have been a mass airflow
sensor ($500).

Best Features

- Overall reliability. At 135k miles it still pulls strong with no rattles or squeaks. - Styling. The design is aging well and aftermarket 16 or 17-inch wheels aid the overall look. - Acceleration. - Fold down rear seats / huge trunk.

Worst Features

-Climate control sometimes has to be dialed in very cold before kicking in. -Handling. Too much body roll; the rear of the car seems too heavy & doesn't like the cut and thrust of a mtn road. -On long trips, the front seats get pretty hard. -Gas mileage: 21mpg, mostly hwy.
