Used 1992 Mercedes-Benz 300-Class Consumer Reviews
1992 Mercedes 300TE
Just bought this wagon and I'm restoring it. The engine runs great, no mechanical issues, just the usual for it's age. Need to repair the auto antenna, replace the rubber around the outside mirrors, replace the under hood insulation, replace the plastic grill as someone broke a piece of it and will renew the shifter bushings. Car runs great, cargo area nice, A.C. , radio, tires and brakes are in good shape. The only other item is to detail the engine bay and it will be a classy, unusual, nice ride which I believe will appreciate in value As an update, there was a pretty bad vibration on idle. I cleaned the idle control valve which did not affect the vibration and erratic idle. I discovered that the motor mounts were bad, so I replaced them with OEM equal quality and now it idles and runs smooth as silk.. Update, the auto antenna broke again and will replace. Transmission occasionally down shifts when not needed. Discovered that a valve needs cleaning inside and will do in the next days. Runs great and very happy with the car.

I think I'm in love...
I just bought my 300E yesterday and I'm absolutely in love with it. I previously owned a 1996 Ford Windstar minivan I inherited from my dad, and I hated driving. With my 300E, driving is my new favorite activity! I love the ride...so smooth! It has 180,000 miles on it right now and I'm hoping for lots more!

4Matic Sedan ,, fast safe and fun
I bought this car 6 months and 10,000 miles ago it is fast and stable , a perfect car to really gobble up the miles in ,, other than a few small items , a 4matic wheel sensor , a new muffler and a front brake job the car has been trouble free , repairs are reasonable for a DIY-er , expensive if you need a mechanic, this is heavier than a regular 300e due to the AWD but performance is still good, the straight six is the best engine MBZ makes , should run easily to 300,000 and beyond , gets 20mpg average and will top out at 130mph (low gearing). This is a car that both you and your wife can love.

Car runs like a dream with constant maintenance not a cheap car to upkeep Approx$1,100 per year.
Great car
One of the best road cars I have ever driven. Quiet, peppy (for a diesel) and a fun car to drive. Spent 33 hours in one continious trip and still comfortable. If your interested in one, make sure you find one with a factory replaced engine or one with the piston rods replaced with the updated ones.
