Once I test drove one, I simply had to
own it. Car is an absolute blast to
drive. It drives like it's on rails,
yet is very smooth and comfortable.
Although underpowered compared to other
sports coupes, it offers a very smooth
power band, with the real fun beginning
at 5000rpms. Just an overall wonderful
daily sports coupe with so many
wonderful features and plenty of power
Grand Touring package is a must have.
Bose audio system sounds wonderful. The
6 speed manual transmission with short
throw shifter makes shifting a thrill.
Navigation system is also great to
have. I love all the features, since
there are so many of them.
Improve fuel economy, as thing thing
guzzles gas. The good chance of
flooding car if you start car and shut
it off before fully warmed up is
something they need to address. Improve
low mid range power. Mazdaspeed rx8 is
a must for 2006.
The car is fun to drive, but the gear
ratios are so close it seems to have a
few too many gears. It would be nice if
there were some adjustment so that 4th
& 5th gears could be used for city
driving and 6th used for >50 MPH. The
cost for fuel (due to the need for
premium grade coupled with the poor gas
mileage) is ridiculous. It is like
driving a full-size SUV!
Looks & handling are great
1- Better adjustment of steering column.
2- Improved gas mileage.
3- Possibility to use regular unleaded
4- The delaer mentioned several times
the possibility to flood the engine by
shutting it down before it has fully
Drives great and handles exceptionally
well. The car moves when you move,
great spring/summer/fall car. Down fall
is the 0-60 speed, esp when compared to
previous RX-7s. Can't wait for the
Interior design, I love the way they
put the instrument pannels and all the
thought behind the dash. Wonderful
layout and it feels very comfy inside.
Where's the turbo? Where's the twin
turbo? The car will not start if you
turn it on/off with out letting it warm
up to driving tempature. :( Other than
that, its a wonderful car!
