The Protege 5 is fun and reliable with
lots of "get up and go." I bought mine
with the roof racks which I use to cart
around two 16-ft Kayaks. Even with the
Kayaks on top (which act like two huge
sails), the gas mileage is great. The
fold-down seats provide extra cargo
space when camping or hauling materials
for my many home remodeling projects.
Additionally the Protege 5 comes
equipped with a great sound system.
The cup holders need improvement. Drinks
tend to tip over ocassionally -
especially in the larger of the two cup
holders. Add a cup holder behind the
arm-rest for access from the back seat.
When the seats fold down, they should
provide a "level" surface.
I am the type of person who sometimes
experiences "buyers remorse". One thing
I do know is that probably one of the
smartest things I have ever done is buy
this vehicle! I can honestly say I
never have experienced "buyers remorse"
with the purchase of this exciting &
fun to drive vehicle. If there was
only one thing to complain about, it
would be the somewhat noisey drive, but
that's what the stereo is for!!:)
I love the handling & sleek looks of
this car. Need I say more??
The ride is somewhat nosiey as far as
hearing the road when driving.
I've had my mp5 for almost a year and I
love it. The build quailty is great, no
squeaks or rattles, and the engine has
run flawlessly. I drive around 50 miles
per day, on country roads, and get 28
mpg. It's a great looking "economy car"
Interior and exterior styling. Peppy
engine. Gas milege.
More ponies-(180-200hp), Tougher paint
(scratches easily), Better access to oil
