2011 Mazda CX-7 i Sport 4dr SUV (2.5L 4cyl 5A)

there has been some problems so far.
we hace 2400 miles on it.
the air con is not the strongest, during our hot summer in Orlando it does not cool off no matter how far you drive. Mazda told
me the days are just too hot being over 100 degrees.
we suffered for about 2 weeks this summer with a brand new car that cant cool off.

then yesterday i noticed a strange smell coming from the engine compartment. i made an appointment and not sure what the problem is now.

im beginning to think we should have purchased the Toyota rav 4

It is your A/C compressor. We USED to own a 2007 CX7 and the same thing happened to us. I noticed that the interior was not cooling down at all, but was told by Mazda it was "normal" on hot days!! I am sorry....but this is NOT NORMAL. Days later, on a long trip to Boston, the ac compressor went (which made lots of noise and kept us stranded on the highway at 4 am with two infants!). Turns out Mazda extended the warranty on the part and replaced it for us. The did not cover the $120 taxi ride to the nearest dealership (tow trucks will not allow two infant car seats in them....mazda roadside only covers the car. ABSURD!!). I checked online, and it turns out these cars are a piece of junk. Don't be fooled by their great appearance or new owner posts. Everyone loves their car when they first get them. Take a look at the older model owners (2007-2009), majority of them have engine failures....although yours is not the Turbo, so it may/may not affect you. I doubt it though since you already have the same ac issue as the turbo models. Want some advice. Sell/trade in the car now, cut your losses. Mazda does not stand by their product (read all the posts). Owners have had to replace the engine themselves. We sold ours (and it was hard to get rid of because of the known history of engine failures) after owning it for 2 years. Will never own another Mazda again!
