3rd cx5 Touring
I like Mazda as a Company....they get what I like in a vehicle, good driving dynamics with quality materials at a reasonable price. This is my 3rd Cx5....and every iteration gets better. The knock appears to be the base engine power. Personally I find the base 2.5 to be more than adequate. No regrets here. UPDATE: The design is attractive, power adequate and a well appointed interior. I don't mind the central control knob for audio functions and the standard audio quality is very good but I find Android Auto clunky to use . My only real complaint is the small and low location of the climate control buttons. My lease was up so I purchased the vehicle. Totally pleased with it.

Premium SUV for VERY affordable price !
One of the best rides you can get for the price. CX-5 Looks stunning and the available Turbo engine is something I think should be standard in zoom-zoom Mazdas. CX-5 is BETTER than Rogue, Pathfinder, Rav4, and Highlander. I am telling you, you WILL NOT find better looking or driving a car for this price. And one this I see reviewers talking about as a negative is trunk space. Put it this way I couldn't care about the trunk. If you have a family of 5 then get Odddesy or something. CX-5 PREMIUM car with a lot to offer. I will not buy anything else ever again. 3 years later review. I can sign under every word I wrote. After three years of service, I couldn't be happier with my baby. 2023 CX-5, here I come !!!! I only wish for one thing. CX-70. If it's anything like the cx-5 in a super Luxury package with an updated Engine AND transmission. OMG. If you're looking for a new car around October-ish of 2023. I only hope CX-70 is on the horizon. Put it this way, CX-5 is a zoom-zoom car. CX-70 is a ZOOM-ZOOM car with luxury attached to it. If you want a Mercedes or BMW, look at CX-70 before you do anything else.

#1 ten years in a row!!! Any ?'s
we now have our 2016 Sport and a 2020 Grand Touring. We gave my daughter our 2010 Rouge when we bought the Sport. When she was ready for a new vehicle she sold the Rouge and bought a 2016 CX-5. She loves it also....

Loved my 2014 CC-5; my 2020 is even better!
My 2014 Touring with premium package was a great car. Fun to drive, economical, and reliable. Main safety feature was BSM, which saved my butt many times. I only had 53,000 miles, but traded it in on a 2020 Grand Touring, white with parchment leather. It’s everything I liked plus more! More safety features, more style, noticeably quieter, and more fun. Could not be happier with my decision. Yes, the AWD and Turbo engine would have been great, but I have been satisfied with the NA 2.5 liter engine. As far as features, the GT gave me everything I wanted.

Formula 1 in an SUV
Three years on I still stand by my review below. I have had zero issues with vehicle so far and still average over 30mpg. After significant research and testing I traded my well used Honda CRV in for the Mazda CX-5. Another CRV was on my mind but the Mazda had better towing capabilities, more power and better mpg. After test driving multiple makes I found it to personally have a more refined interior design, handling response and ride. I get excellent highway mileage averaging around 36mpg, unless I start using the paddle shifters. Add all that the "fun" I have driving it and the smile it puts on my face is well worth it. I like the multiple rear seat release configurations with the added ability to put the seats down from the cargo area. A few drawbacks: infotainment center operation is a bit dated and could use a new software package but it does work great just takes a bit of "getting use to". The CX-5 2.5L can be a bit wonky when it comes to oil changes. The actual amount of oil needed can and does vary by vehicle and it is a known "quirk" with Mazda. After my first oil change my "oil" light (there are several) came on for "low" oil. I stopped for 5 minutes and it was okay but came back on later. I found out my CX-5 actually requires an additional 6-8 ounces of oil to keep the light from coming on. I've had no issues since doing that. It easily tows my boat with no effect on the rear suspension or change in handling response. The brakes work great but I will likely upgrade to a performance package in the future as I have done with all my vehicles (excluding motorcycles). Three years and 32K in everything is working great, replaced the stock Toyo tires which made a huge difference in ride and upped the handling response. I'm averaging 26-28mpg around town and 32+ on the highway.

Love this Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring
I absolutely love my Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring drives smooth handles very well 187hp and 186 torque is more than adequate turbo engine would have been nice to have but not willing to spend the money. Plus I rather have V6 then a turbo engine people make a big deal out of horse power but when a Nissan Sentra pass you up on a highway it really does not matter. Awesome car it should be on everyone’s top list.

The turbo is when she especially in sport mode… Napa weather chocolate suits are awesome… Ventilated cooled seat function could be better. Wonderfully crafted and very responsive around turns!! Can’t wait to get some performance tires on this baby!!

Practical FUN
Great little vehicle! Fun to drive as it really sticks to the road. Not over-powered, but it has enough to get you there safely. Love the "command center knob", and was very impressed with the ACC and how well it kept up the selected speed and held the distance from the vehicle ahead. Interior is very well done; good quality and appearance. A little short of storage space.
