Former Loyal Honda Owner

After owning Civics, Accords and Odesseys I thought I'd never own anything else. The Mazda 6 caught my eye after Hondas disappointing make over. Once I drove the Mazda 6 I felt like I was driving a true sports sedan that is truely a fun car to own. To anyone considering another or their first Honda, don't let the Mazda name fool you anymore. Mazda is now a car as good as, if not better than any car in its class. I can't say enough about its stand out curb apeal, it's an eye catcher that is not like all the others. My advice is test drive it and I bet you buy it.

I bought this car used with 34k miles. I really lucked up and got a great deal on it. Plus it's fully loaded (sports trim, leather seats, power, tint, spoiler, sunroof, Bose stereo, etc.). I LOVE THIS CAR!! I'm definitely a driver's driver. I love the handling, especially on curves (barely have to slow down on exit ramps). The speed is great, you feel like you're going 40 at 60 mph. I've put nearly 20k miles on it in the year and a half that I've had it. Including a 1500 mile road trip. I was comfortable the entire trip there and back. I saw a few people have had some mechanical issues with theirs, but other than a headlight bulb needing replacing, I've had no issues.

Purchased new in '04 and love this car. Get compliments on exterior design all the time. Got the Luxury, Sport, Security, and Bose packages all in a manual 4-banger and love all these features. With the small engine, I really don't push this car hard, but it gives me all the power I need, with the exception of some throttle lag in 1st or 2nd gear. Stock Michelins terrible in snow. Had clutch replaced due to shudder, and brakes and rotors twice due to abnormal and untimely wear, all noted by Mazda bulletins. Hope current models have these problems ironed out cause I still love this car.

I was earlier driving a Toyota Camry and I must say that the toyota was very good in terms of quality. No problems for the five years that I used it ,considering the mileage that I do annually. However ,after I purchased the Mazda6 ,I was surprised to know that there is something more what you can get in a car than just quality and reliablity .The Mazda6 handles better than most cars that I have test driven in its category like the Accord, the Mondeo ,the passat ,A4,etc.Design was fantastic inside as well as outside .The brakes were also the best in its class .Engine servicing was at half the intervals you would service an Accord or Camry.Seating comfort and

I never thought that a 4 door sedan could be this fun to drive. I have the 4 cyl. with 5 speed and it has plenty of power, handles excellent in corners and highway speeds. I bought this Mazda6 with the intention of giving it to my son when he turned 16 and now that the day has arrived, I hate to give it up. The a/c works great, shifting is smooth and quick with its short throw design and it comes with some special features not expected in this cars price range, like dimming lights after entering the car, auto shut off headlights, if you forgot, great bose stereo system, electronic trunk release and many other features you would not expect for the price. All and all a great car to drive

First, I'm 6'1" and have problems finding cars to fit me. I tried the Eclipse and Scion tC and found neither to have enough room for me. I tested the Mazda 6 cause it looked nice and was pleasantly surprised to find it had more than enough room for me. I loved the fact this car had everything I need within easy reach and the V6 was nice to drive. I bought an automatic and I have yet to regret the decision. The Bose audio sounds nice and the luxury package has options higher priced cars have like heated seats & heated mirrors. The sports package made this car look better and any other car. I bought the S sedan for 26k with tax and titles included.

The car is an amazing four door. I own the V6 3.0L S Sedan model. Mine's a 2004. It handles awesome! Better than any of the cars in its class. It's a little underpowered compared to its competitors....my only suggestion to Mazda is to either lighten the car or kick up the Horses about 20 and the torque to where the current horsepower is now (or above). The interior is completely comfortable for myself (I'm a 6 foot 4 inches tall guy) so it should be roomy enough for anyone else. I'd recommend this car to anyone because of the package for the price. Well done Mazda! Keep up with the 'Zoom-Zoom'.

I have been driving my 6 for 2 months now. I love the design and form of the car. 20 more hp would not have hurt, but all-in-all it is the most pleasant riding, sports sedan I have owned yet. When the engine idles, it is so smooth you cannot tell it is running. The BOSE audio system is top notch, and the climate control works rapidly and efficiently.

The 6 is a fantastic car. With the manual transmission, the 2.3l has great pickup with even greater gas mileage. Interior is comfortable even for me (6'6"). I upgraded from the Mazda 3 because of interior size. The styling is fantastic. Just add some nicer rims (mine came with the 16" plastic hubcaps) and you're good to go. Much more style and individuality than other cars in this class. Lots of OEM accessories to add to this car in the future. Way to go Mazda!

I thought for a while before I wrote this. And I think my title describes my 6s perfectly. It really is all good, and all bad. Great to drive, sharp looking, so much more exciting than an Accord/Camry type. But I've experienced horrible reliability problems from day one. Brakes replaced twice. CD player not working. Engine fan. Power locks. Etc. I haven't even begun to describe the horrible build quality--rattles in the dashboard, driver's seat, passenger's seat, sunroof, headliner, glove box. I used to own a VW Jetta, and joked that it was like a beautiful girlfriend who treated you like dirt--you cared and cared, and it never cared back. My 6 is just as bad. I'll never buy a Mazda again.

I love my Mazda6s 5-door. The engine comes to life at about 3500-4000 rpm's and it fly's after that! The car handles better than most cars that I have driven. For the price it is a excellent car. I personally like it better than the BMW (low end) 3 series cars because of the interior room and the engine (not to mention it saves about 5 grand). Performance and appearance mod's are begining to come out and they are making this car faster and making it look better. I would recommend this car to anyone. I am very pleased with it and the service that Mazda has is unbeatable.

This car is put together nicely. I can't imagine a four dour handling any better. It has okay power from a stop, but impressive power while on the move. In comparison to everything else like honda, toyata, nissan, and so forth, the 6 is a much better bargain. To get the V6 in the other competing models is much more expensive, and in the end all you would be paying for is a LITTLE more pick up from a stand still. Is that really worth a couple thousand? Not when you consder how well the 6 handles.

I've loved the looks of the Mazda6 since I first saw one on the road. Excellent interior and exterior design. Great V6 and manual transmission. The ride is rather harsh. Small bumps in the road seem somewhat exaggerated by the suspension. Small creeks and rattles are evident on the interior when going over these bumps (noises in the B- pillar, the doors, and behind the audio/HVAC panel). The Bose system is awesome, but buzzes are definately noticable in the doors and handles when the bass is turned up above a medium level. Love, the car, wish the build was a little more solid.

I have over 70,000 miles on my Mazda6 S (manual trans) and I'm completely satisfied with its performance and reliability up to this point. Other than the stock Michelin tires which were dreadful in the snow I have absolutely no complaints. Oil and brake pads are all that it's needed for service so far. I average around 24mpg with 3.0 engine and manual transmission. If you like sporty ride (a little stiff for some), decent motor, great handling, nice interior, reasonable mileage and great reliability I highly recommend this car.

I have had for more than a year and every morning I drive to work, I enjoy this car immensely...I have only had to have the rotors turned and my alignment may be a bit off (normal on a new car). Fun, fast, and handles awesome. Some Suburu came flying around me the other day going into an on ramp and i accelerated up to triple digits and it held the road just fine with three other passengers. Handling makes this a fun car to drive..also the smooth V6 is fun also.

I bought this car new in 2004 and love the way it drives. Very quick and fun to drive. However, there have been reliability issues including a clutch that just doesn't seem to catch shifting first to second, the starter had to be replaced and finally, the cable that connected my shifter to the engine snapped and I could no longer shift my car into gear. Very puzzling and the dealership had no idea why that would have happened. I really do love my car but wish it was more reliable. Also, it is terrible in the snow with all-season tires.

Bought my Mazda 6 with all the options available and the car is quite striking in Lapis Blue Metallic-a few reservations though that everyone should know about: 1. The center console (HOD in the dash) cannot be modified with a dash kit, etc. without extensive work- this means that adding your own CD player, etc. is VERY difficult. 2. There is considerable throttle lag in the 5 speed version- the car does not want to accelerate much until at least 3500 RPM (on the highway though, the car passes other cars very nicely) 3. Fuel economy sucks - expect to spend $25+ a week on moderate driving 4. Sport package makes driving a bit bumpy (but handling is exceptional)

Wonderful family sports sedan ! Regularly have positive comments & inquiries made at the gas pump, etc. by interested strangers...Once underway, the 4-cylinder gets up and goes at speeds above 50 mph ++. Nothing like it ! The automatic/manual shift transmission is a great idea for an all around exciting driving experience in all manner of traffic and driving conditions I feel.

Mazda designers are taking huge strides in the right direction in regards to the styling of their vehicles. The Mazda6 is available as a sedan and very soon will also be available in the US as a hatch and a wagon. One of the best things about this car right now is that you don’t drive 15 minutes down the road and during that period see five cars exactly like the one you are driving. Look different and still have an excellent sedan! This vehicle suits someone with kids that still wants a sporty look and wants to keep the car for a long time. Find endless information on this vehicle as stated by owners themselves, on the forums at mazda6club.

We first test drove many other cars. Nissans, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Volxwagon, Acura, Honda. All were nice cars. Did not want to spend over 30,000 dollars for a new car. Last car we drove was the Mazda 6 Sedan. Although equiped with the 4 cylinder, and a manual transmission, it drove and preformed like a sports car when asked, and a sedate fuel effitient compact when needed. We went back and drove the others, but the decision was made. All that is left to say is.... What a great car for a great price. It does all that we ask, and acks as though we could give it more if we needed it. Compact car fuel economy, sedan comfort, sports car feel. Nice work Mazda!!

I have owned my new silver 6s with sports package and manual transmission for 2 months now and I am very happy. The only things I can fault it for is the turning radius and it can be difficult to launch in 1st gear because of the lack of torque. However once this car is off the line it is a hoot to drive. It handles superbly at speed and the engine comes alive at 3500 rmp. As a younger man I was a Datsun 510 lover, and this car takes me back to the fun days of rowing gears and tossing the car around turns. It is also the best looking car in it's class (imo). Compared to the Accord, Camry or Altima this car has so much more personality and fun to drive factor. Why drive something boring?

I bought this car in September 2004, and after five months, I still smile when I see it. As my first new car, I was pleased with the price, options, and Mazda's warranty. Other reviews I've read mention tight seating in the back, but I've yet to hear a complaint. Coming from a hatchback, one of my top priorities was ample trunk space -- the Mazda 6 trunk is huge! The exterior styling is beautiful -- I think it's the best looking car in its class.

I bought my 2004 Mazda6s from a dealership a few weeks ago. It was used, but had barely 6,000 miles and was in EXCELLENT condition. I was in love with the 6 for a very long time, and I am absolutely delighted to own one. My 6s is fully loaded, down to the leather seats, Bose Sound system and the sunroof. This car has it all, a head-turning exterior, a fun and fab interior, and the 3.0 V6 engine gives you some pep when you want it - yet still remains quiet (a lot less noisy than its competitors). I am very very happy that I purchased this car and I look forward to many great times ahead in my zoom-zoom!

For all those considering purchasing a fun vehicle to drive that gets away from the dull and boring car (Toyota Camry, Honda Accord - besides, I'm SOOO sick of hearing how great these cars are), then consider the 6s. I purchased 1 one 6 Blazing Copper Metallic (Orange) Mazda 6s' in my state, and have received tons of compliments on the style of the car and the color. Being a Syracuse Univ. alum, the car is appropriately named Otto. The heated leather seats and mirrors are a nice touch, and the Bose audio system can't be beat. The performance handles like a sport's car, and spending an extra $150 for tinted windows is definetely a MUST.

Black 6s with 5 speed, black leather, bose. This car is solid. There is no noticeable flex in the chassis & the car rides flat in corners. The best thing about the 6 is it's handling. It's really responsive and sure-footed. The engine is very smooth, but does not overwhelm you with low end torque. You must keep the revs up to utilize the 220 horses. No noticeable torque steer or major wheel hop in harder launches. Mileage was horrible at first, it has gotten better. The interior is nice for this class. The wheels are gorgeous. It is a great value in the low $20s with options.

I have two Mazdas 6; one automatic V6 and my favorite V6 with manual transmission. To have every day fun on the road you really need manual. It jumps over the any car you name it. The automatic has that "manual" feature but it isn't same feeling like real manual it has delay. With manual you press less gas pedal and have immediate respond. Automatic you press half of the way and still nothing happens. The automatic is for nice and smooth ride. Have fun drive manual. No any problems with car -- 34000 miles.

Poor Factory Workmanship, Fit & Finish

Poor fit & finish, hood, bumper cover, fenders & front end accessories are out of alignment & a bent door. A loose windshield gasket and a rattle in the dash. I looked at Mazda6 cars on 3 dealer lots, each exhibiting similar poor exterior workmanship. I complained to both the dealer and Mazda corporate, all to no avail. Ignored for nearly 120 days, the Mazda factory rep finally told me that the poor workmanship "meets the factory standard." & that the bent door "may be" my fault. Examine your Mazda6, & note the hood & bumper cover alignment & the hood's over hang. I expected acknowledgement & timely service. I should have bought the Altima!

My lapis blue Mazda 6 is beautiful, handles like it's on rails, and is quite fast above 3,000 RPM. If you're into performance and looks, you won't find any better sedan at $19,200.

This is my 2nd new Mazda. My 1992 MX6 was a piece of junk. I hope this car is built better. I have a 6i 5 door, auto, luxy package,6CD Bose. I ordered the car with roof and sercurity package , but Mazda could not fill that order. The roof and alarm were put in at the dealer. The gas milage is good. 28 mpg highway. The car is fun to drive and gets a lot of looks.

My 6s is a great looking fun to drive vehicle. Mazda has hit the nail on the head with their zoom zoom saying. This car not only has great looks, it comes nicely set up, especially with the sport package. I highly recomend this vehicle to anybody, especially those who want a hot looking car with reliability.

We drove many other cars in simular class, and size. Drove the Mazda last, mainly drove it for a fun ride didn't feel it would live up to what we wanted in a new car. To our surprise it surpassed all of our expectations. We chose the four cylinder, for the fuel economy. It is a little down on power but at 33 miles per gallon the very little we give up is made up in fun, and style. It has more class on the outside and the best in class interior design. The handling of the car is incredibly nimble on the 17" rims and Michellin Pilottires. All it took was one drive after driving many other cars more than twice. Great car at a great price.

I purchased my Mazda 6 in August of 2004. Has a 5 speed manual with sport package and Bose stereo. I have had zero problems with this car. Regular oil changes, new wipers every year (live in snow belt, CNY) and had to buy snow tires and new performance radials (I'm a sales man). I just rolled over 63,500 on the car and have had no major repairs with the exception of the front wheel bearing. Performance is excellent and gas mileage is great. Can't complain with 400 miles on a tank. Why anyone would buy anything else boggles the mind. Great quality and reliability for the money. The car was rear ended by an F150 at a red light, was fixed and no-one got hurt. That's reliability to me!

I am the 2nd owner, bought it with 67000 miles. Currently 76,000 in a little over 8 months. Had a 97 Prelude (auto trans) previous to this and I can say that this car handles just as predictable as the Prelude, which was lowered 2 inches all around. It has just the right amount of power to merge onto the highway, to cruise on the open road, as well as passing someone on the highway. I have the manual tranny and so far haven't had any problem. I do experience starter squeal from the clutch dust in the bearings, as well as a defunct CD player, and my fan control module went - causing the engine to overheat. The car does have its reliability issues, other than that, its a great all around car.

Bought new in 04. 60K miles so far. Replaced all 4 tires and brakes and changed the oil regularly. Luckily no big problems. It's a good looking car that's fun to drive. I have the sport package with the automatic tranny (wish I got the manual). I like the car but the rear tires get cupped if you don't rotate them often enough. You also have to be careful washing it that you don't break off the cheap antenna (oops). When she's clean she gets lots of looks. There is also a little hesitation with the automatic tranny when you punch the throttle and it's very annoying. But still, a nice family car that doesn't look like one.

This Mazda has BMW-like handling at a lower cost. Reliability has been much better than domestics I have owned. The exterior still looks like new and the interior (leather) has held up well too. This car should last me another 6 to 7 years easily. I still enjoy driving it every day.
