2001 Lexus LS 430 4dr Sedan (4.3L 8cyl 5A)

Review

After having owned BMWs, Mercedes, Infinitis, etc., there is no car that can compare to the comfort and ease of driving this car. I hate driving but I LOVE my Lexus!! The Lexus also has the best navigation system around with its simple, intuitive touch screen system.

Best Features

Quiet, easy to drive, very responsive.

Worst Features

None - don't change a thing. You can't improve upon perfection.

2001 Lexus LS 430 4dr Sedan (4.3L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Been searching for months for 01, with Navigation in pearl white/white. Best car I have ever owned. Super smooth, VERY comfortable, very quick/fast. Better than listed mpg, gets 30 mpg freeway. Navigation very easy/useful. M.L stereo is incredible. I go for a drive now to relax ! Headlights are great. Trunk is huge. Wife and kids love it. Its a perfect 10 !

Best Features

Comfortable seats, top notch stereo, V-8 power with good MPG, quietness, classy looks, navigation, storage areas, big gas tank for long trips.

Worst Features

Stock rims are a little boring, I swapped for Italian Momos in same size. Lexus keys are overly expensive but a nice design with remote on the key.

Review

Flawless reliability, after 5 years and 95000 miles not one repair issue. My only visit to the dealer was to have the Nav system re-programmed due to a satellite change (they sent me $50 for my trouble). It is still as solid and tight as the day I bought it, still not a hint of wind noise.

Best Features

Ventilated front seats, layout and engineering of all the controls, Park Assist, Laser Cruise Control. Rear seat passengers love the center armrest controls and the massaging - reclining seats. The refrigerator comes in handy.

Worst Features

The transmission and engine are not always on the same page. Transmission needs to anticipate the need for downshifting more quickly.

Review

My current Lexus (LS 430) was bought in 2001 on the strength of the performance of my first Lexus (LS 400), which I owned/drove for ten years. I faithfully have "scheduled" maintenance but never had to have either serviced for other work - absolutely problem-free! I love the way it drives, the way it looks and hope my next purchase will be a 2007 Lexus (LS 460) or later. My current one still looks and drives like new after 5 years and only has 30,000 miles on it - it's only the handsome styling of the newest generation that is tempting me!

Best Features

Navigation. Ability to adjust position of passenger seat from the driver's seat. Rear window screens. Built-in hands-free phone. Curb sensors. Cooling seat cushions. Auto adjusting rearview mirrors. Rear seat controls & reclining seats. Auto window-lowering with remote key. Windshield water sensor.

Review

When you really get down to it, there are a few other vehicles that you can buy that will have the same level of comfort, but how often will they be in for repairs? The LS has a great balance of power, comfort, class and reliability.

Best Features

'Ultra' luxury features are a spendy option, but every one of my passengers has had nothing but good to say about them (heated reclining rear seats, separate a/c, adaptive air suspension etc.)

Worst Features

A little thicker paint on the front bumper (several rock chips are very unsightly & the parking sensors don't hold the paint very well).
