2000 Land Rover Discovery Series II 4dr SUV AWD

Great off-road and less so on-road, I
very much enjoyed owning and driving
the Discovery despite its flaws in
MPG, inconvenient interior amentities,
wimpy wiper mechanism, and
poor on-road performance. A funny
anomoly: the vehicle can plow
through 4 feet of water or snow (and I
did both!), but the wiper motor breaks
unless the windshield has been cleared
of all snow & ice!

Best Features

Off-road capability, exterior styling, driving height, heated front windshield, sound system, dual sunroofs, heat & AC kicked on fast, great in bad weather - if we got 2 feet of snow, I didn't shovel; I just backed out of my driveway!

Worst Features

Awful MPG, no usable cup holders, sluggish for a V8, back seat tough to get in/out, wiper motor needs replacing if used against even 1" of snow, change rear gate swing direction for markets who drive on the right, ie AWAY from curb), finding parking garages tough b/c of height
