Looking for a great crossover SUV that gets you a lot for your money? The 2017 Kia Sorento might be a good match. Here's a quick rundown of what we like, what we don't and the bottom line from the Edmunds editors.
MARK TAKAHASHI: I'm Edmunds editor Mark Takahashi. And here's an Expert Rundown of the 2017 Kia Sorento. There's a lot to like about the 2017 Kia Sorento, even among other mid-size SUVs. It's hard to beat the value proposition for a long list of features, reasonable pricing, and the industry's longest warranty. As a family hauler, its top safety scores should be a strong draw for shoppers. The Sorento is available as either a two or a three-row SUV, with the last row being suitable for smaller passengers only. There's not a lot of cargo space behind the third row. But overall, you get more capacity than the average two-row SUV. The second row seats are comfortable and score points for their ability to slide and recline. They also fold flat using remote levers in the cargo area. The Sorento's interior is well-made and attractive, making it look and feel more expensive than it is. The bottom line is the Kia Sorento is worth your attention. Whether it's the two or three-row model, it competes well against the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport as well as the Ford Edge, even the Toyota Highlander, which is one of our favorites. Also, keep an eye out for the forthcoming Volkswagen Atlas.
