He asked for a $500 deposit to hold the car and take it off the market, as the vehicle would not be ready until the following day because it needed shock/strut service. I gave him the deposit. That evening, I received an email saying, "As it turns out the Soul was sold to another customer and we refunded your deposit of $500." WTF?! That is the entire point of a deposit was to ensure this didn't happen! No explanation, apology, or restitution. So now I don't have the car BUT since they needlessly ran my credit, my score has gone down 10 points for no reason, so I'm the one who suffers to get another car. This is unacceptable and would expect more from any legitimate dealership.

He and management said they'd look into if they could honor my price (the price they'd given me), until ultimately I learned the car had been sold and they wouldn't have more of the car THAT I HAD RESERVED until 2 months later. Sleazy and undeserving of your business unless you are happy to pay $5K+ over MSRP and have your deal change multiple times.

Unapologetic [non-permissible content removed]. Was quoted a price over email and the salesman asked for my ID and credit card to reserve the car at that price. He said the car would be in 1-2 days later. Over the next 2 days, he kept trying to increase the already agreed upon price - first by $1K and then by over $2K. When I called him out on it and said we had already agreed on a price, he said "well I never charged your card." Unbelievable. He and management said they'd look into if they could honor my price (the price they'd given me), until ultimately I learned the car had been sold and they wouldn't have more of the car THAT I HAD RESERVED until 2 months later. Sleazy and undeserving of your business unless you are happy to pay $5K+ over MSRP and have your deal change multiple times.
