Run Forest Run!!! 2018 JL and I too could write several paragraphs detailing the problems we've had with ours from the 1st week of owning it, but I'm not going to keep wasting my time on this POS Jeep. We picked it up from the dealer again (and again, and again, and again, you get the point) and then went on vacation for a week. The day after we got back we drove it to town and who'd a thunk it, the check engine light came on again. I guess our next step is a lawyer! RUN and I mean RUN past the Jeeps, hell, for that matter RUN past anything that is Fiat/Chrysler/Ram. The dealership has been just as bad as the Jeep! Next time you see one and think "Wow that's a sharp looking ride, I should buy one" slap your self, and keep slapping until you pass out! Thank God I only wasted 30ish on this POS, you guys that spent 40's, 50's and yes 60's are hating life.

Worst Vehicle I've Ever Owned

I wish I had seen this discussion about the reliability of the JL's prior to purchasing in the spring of 2018. I don't know where to begin other than to say this is, by far, the worst vehicle I've ever owned, and if nothing else comes out of this post I hope I can dissuade someone from buying a Wrangler JL until FCA sorts out their manufacturing problems and stands behind their warranty. Thus far, I've had four warranty service visits (excluding recalls and oil changes, etc), and am getting ready to schedule my fifth visit. Down time on the car, per the local dealership, currently stands at 24 days - with four repairs of the same part - the auto stop/start function, all within 2 years of walking off the lot with my new JL. On top of the auto start/stop function being sporadic and triggering the CEL, I've been left stranded on the highway due to overheating (I see others have had that issue too), and now I have a large puddle of coolant under my car as it awaits its fifth service visit. This time, prior to taking my vehicle to the dealer, I called FCA to complain and seek some resolution. The service rep informed me that I just can't have really high expectations of an off-road vehicle. Great...nice response. I told the rep my GM, Chevrolet, Mercedes, and AM General vehicles I've owned - all vehicles that were sold with close to 200k miles on them - never had issues like this, and his response..."well that's different"...with no offer of resolution other than to connect with the local dealership before I drop it off yet again. I'm giving FCA one last chance to get it fixed and stand behind their warranty. If not, my next call is to a Lemon law attorney.

Got the last of the JKs

I purchased the JK Willy's version in 4 door. The primary reason is that it did not have the ESS system and had a 5 speed automatic transmission. I find the 5 speed does not do the continual shifting in the mountains of Colorado like the new 8 seed transmission does. I do sacrifice some mpg however. I am estimating about 2 mpg. Overall I am very pleased with the vehicle.

Back on the Ferry

Just had third occurrence of my new 2018 Wrangler JL not starting.not the battery. Dealer can't seem to determine cause. Since I have a summer home on an island and would like to take it off reading on the beach, I no longer trust the vehicle won't start again. By the way, being on an island requires me to bring the vehicle to the mainland for "repair". Thus a ferry ride over and back to the island. No licensed Chrysler dealers on this island. Am considering invoking state lemon law.

My first car was a 1993 Jeep Wrangler. And I always had a Jeep untiI had kids.... I’m finally reunited with my beloved jeepy again... it’s definitely slow going uphill... and slow to accelerate but it’s nt made to be fast... and I’m totally fine with that. It’s so much fun and I couldn’t be happier. Love it so much
