2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
I had my jeep grand cherokee for 3 weeks and was in an accident on the highway. I was tboned st 60mph and rolled. If I could post photos I would...Everyone I have spoken to EMT, Police, the Insurance Adjuster say that I am lucky to be alive.. I tell you all of my airbags went off and after the accident was over I walked away with only one fracture. The car was completly totaled but the … driver's seat and cabin area looked untouched by damage other than the airbags and the rearview mirror being torn off in impact. It looked like I was in a bubble of protection and the car was destroyed around the cabin but I was completely saved. Thumbs up to Jeep for safety design this Grand Cherokee took a big hit but absorbed impact from me. I will definitely be buying another because I feel safe in a Jeep.
Looks good but poor quality

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
Originally went in to buy a Wrangler but fell in love with the look of this while I was walking on the lot. I wish I hadn't. Mere days after purchasing, I was trying to show some of the features to a friend and the Jeep shut off. Battery was defective and took 4 days to replace. My car was in the shop for 8 of my first 12 days of owning it due to a chip in the paint that they … couldn't get right, in addition to the battery issue. Over time, the navigation would put me in the wrong location and the time would steadily increase one or two minutes incorrect. Eventually, my GPS had me located 20 miles off the coast of New Jersey in the middle of the ocean (I'm in Maryland) and the time was off by about 30 minutes. I took it in for service and they said I needed a new radio. I've been working with Chrysler and they've recommended replacing the radio 4 times, after the first 3 attempts were all "defective" per their "expertise." I had been working on this case for almost 4 months and finally just pulled the plug and sold it. Terrible customer service and a lack of empathy for someone who spent $40K on one of their vehicles. Steer clear of this one. Jeep has good brand recognition from the olden days but quality has dropped tremendously.
Not moving just dead

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
After owning the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee for 1yr & 3 months the battery dies. I replaced the batteries (main$225 & aux $185) less than a week it dies. I notice a recall so I find a Dodge/Jeep dealership to do the recall in Feb. The dealership states this recall should fix the issue. They do the recall when I get the vehicle back the ABS light is on, traction light is on & cruise won’t … work & the 2 brand new one month old batteries are dead. The truck won’t start again. I take it back to the dealership they say the recall has nothing to do with the other issues. But I need new batteries for them to be able to test it. I return & exchange both batteries. The dealership has my vehicle for a week & says the STAR mechanic says it the alternator. I purchase a $750 alternator get it put & 3 days later it dies again. Charge the batteries to drive it back to the dealership for the to say they will do diagnostic tests. I called them after having the vehicle 4 days for them to tell me the batteries are dead & I have to get new batteries. This is 3 replacement batteries in 4 months. The dealership has been no help & when I called the Jeep hotline their suggestion is for me to take it to a different dealership. There still is a problem that something is drawing from the batteries. I read many articles that says this is a problem with this vehicle but no one can give a answer. So I have been paying a monthly payment on a vehicle that I have driven maybe 2 weeks in the last 5 months. No one can tell me the issue & I am sure I am not the first person to have this issue. I feel that I bought a lemon. Very disappointed.
My dream car has become a money pit

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 8A)
Bought my 2018 jeep in 2020 with 30,000 miles. It was my dream car! Loved everything about it, but it has become a money pit. It needed a new fuel pump (it wouldn't let me put gas in it) , 2 sets of tires (which is on me), then a constant check engine light. Which resulted in a new fuel injector, new spark pugs, and so forth. Finally at 65,000 the engine completely crapped out. And the … dealer told me that it was a common problem. So, It has been replaced which was a 3 month waiting game and they pretty much told me to expect the same problems down the road... anyways my dream car has turned into a money pit. Don't recommend.

Which Grand Cherokee does Edmunds recommend?
There's no bad Grand Cherokee in the lineup, and picking one is largely about getting the capabilities you want or need. But if we had to choose just one, we'd go with the Trailhawk trim level. With special features such as off-road skid plates and low range gearing, it's prepared for any trail you might want to tackle. It's still useful for your daily commute, too, and can be fitted with pretty much all of Jeep's luxury-oriented features.

Driving
With many available engines and trim levels, there's a lot to choose from on the Grand Cherokee, but no matter which model you go with, off-road performance is rather good, even if handling isn't top-notch. The top-level Summit model we tested is the only Grand Cherokee that's not Trail Rated.
Comfort
The Grand Cherokee has excellent sound deadening, plus supportive seats and plenty of room to stretch out. Although we expected good things from the air suspension, it suffers in the city, struggling to soak up smaller bumps.
Interior
Jeep's most recent improvements certainly make the Grand Cherokee's cabin a nice place to be. The Uconnect infotainment system, materials and controls are at the top of the class, though the touchscreen forces too many steps for certain functions.
Utility
The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a capable tow rig and has decent cargo space. But three-row SUVs offer even more interior space.
Technology
Though the Uconnect system in the Jeep Grand Cherokee is one of the most user-friendly on the market, our test vehicle had several issues with reliability during operation. Knobs often failed to respond to inputs, and the satellite radio cut out so many times that we lost track.
