Used 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews
Best suv i have ever rode in!
This is the third JGC that we have owned since 1999. we have had a 1999, 2002 and this 2005. the 2002 had a steering pump hose burst on a -20 degree day, but i guess you would have to expect that.. the other two have never had any problems. we have long commutes to work and school for my son, when we had to replace the 2002 after an accident, we decided to try other suv's...after all the test drives, we both agreed that none of them stacked up to the jeep. the leather interior, the 4.7 v8, the sunroof.. all awesome. looks great, and drives even better. we get some nasty snow in the Ohio area, so we are thankful that jeep offers such a superb 4 wheel drive in a great package!
I love my Jeep
I was just shocked at some of the reviews that I was reading that I had to join to write my own. I've only owned my Jeep for about 9 months and I love my Jeep The 3.7 isn't the biggest or fastest but I fixed that with a cold air intake that I purchased at an auto parts store and now I have just as much horsepower as any other v6 out there. I would almost gaurantee a little bit more. And as for the people that are complaining about the transmission and stuff the only thing I have had a problem with is my pinion gasket which Jeep was more than happy to replace and I'm the second owner. The Grand Cherokee I think all around is great and plan on buying another one when I'm done with this one.

BUYER BEWARE!
Please make sure the transmission is checked before you put your name on paper. They are having problems with water getting into the transmission. I had mine flushed several times and I kept telling them it is not driving right. Of course they say, the computer is not coming up with any codes. Well coming home from two nights ago my transmission went out on a major highway. This is the fourth time that it is in the service dept. I am glad I live in Florida where there is a lemon law.
2005 Grand Cherokee
Jeeps downfall is its build quality and paint job. Upon delivery, I had to align the front fender and hood so that the joint lines were somewhat equal. At approximately 1400 miles, the transmission developed a surge. Come to find out, the surge was due to condensate from the A/C leaking by the transmission dip stick tube. The dealer fixed that problem but created another with the starter. Back to the dealership again! On a positive note, I really love to drive this vehicle. Its just the right size for a SUV and I feel safe.
Leaky Jeep
This is my first Jeep. Also looked at VW Toureg V8 and Volvo XC90 V8. Took the cheaper route with the Jeep. Purchased Limited 4x4 with every option except block heater. The first time it rained the drivers floor was soaked with water. Took it back to the dealer. They have been trying to solve the problem ever since. Has now been back to the dealer 3 times with same problem. Next time asking for new Jeep or money back. Great performance and features. Kids love DVD player. I like acceleration and ride.
