11-14 MPG!

Fun to drive, w/ 5.7 L Hemi. Not a good family SUV, too small. 11-14 MPG over the past 3 years of mixed driving. Would not buy another Jeep in the future.

I am the proud owner of a brand new 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK. Before you even step in the car you notice the sleek body lines, the cool new look, and the key/remote entry. Once inside, the new car smell hits you and your body conforms to the interior. For the left hand driver, one hand goes to the wheel, the right elbow goes for the center console, and the right hand sits on the shifter. When you begin driving, the smooth, quiet ride are immediately noticed, as well as the nonexistent wind noise. The car accelerates well, able to pass cars with ease.

Have been driving the 3.7 version for almost two years. Towed a fully loaded 5x8 enclosed trailer weighing 2000 lbs across the country with no problems in the mountains. Turn radius in parking lot is similar to small car. Power steering works great when at full stop. Spark plugs are difficult to replace, but not impossible. Climate control is quick to respond.

Air Problems

Florida is not where you would normally roll your windows down in July, but don't! It hurts your ears, just like a lousy airplane cabin. I took it to the dealership. They test drove (I thought one of my back tires was bad); the mechanic said it was a poor design -- wind tunnel tested with window up only, not down. With the back seat windows down there is no place for the air to go, it is absolutely horrible!

My 1st new Jeep

This is my 1st Jeep. I have been a Ford Explorer owner. I bought the Jeep because my son has a 2001 and it still looks great after 60,000 miles. I went to look at the Chevy TrailBlazers and just did not like the style or ride. The Ford Explorer unfortunately was not even on my list but probably would have be the SUV I would have purchased. With the Explorer you can't rent a trailer from U-Haul and to spend this kind of money and have that restriction did not make sense.
