This vehicle was purchased brand new in
2000 and was bought back in 2001 via
lemon law. This suv was in the shop
2x/month every month. Problems with
starter, fuel pump, tranny making lound
noises, driving constantly to the
right, mirrors, seat memory, cd
changer, paint, and other problems
Audio controls, v8 power, fun to drive
factor, poor fuel economy
RELIABILITY, fuel economy (at least get
it in the high teens).
Current GC is my second, owned a 93
first. Love the extra power from the I-
6. Reliable car. Get upset when I
hear others talk bad about Jeep. Other
than usual wear and tear, I have been
to the garage less than anyone I know.
GC doesn't like to run at 105 MPH on
the Autobahn, but it will still
maintain the pace for hours at a time.
Love the looks when passing the Germans
in their Audi's, speed is not always
about the vehicle's performance. Love
it in the snow, passing the BMWs on the
hills. On my second set of brakes at
80,000, not too bad!!!
Stereo controls on the steering wheel.
Select-a-track, allowing me to decide
how to drive it.
Large blind spots on front colums when
rain guards are added.
So far I have replaced Water pump, 2
window motors, brakes and air
conditioner compressor. Mechanic says
these are all known bad parts!! Jeep
should reacall some of these if they
are know to have bad parts. WOULD
NEVER BUY A JEEP AGAIN!!!
I love my Jeep but it dies sporadically.
The dealership 'thinks' it is a
connection problem but the $ to
trace all the connections is too much
because there is still no guarantee that
they can find the problem.
It isn't the O2 sensor - I tried that
after researching the Internet. A
needless $300 fix because it still dies.
It happens on the freeway, back roads,
side roads, no consistentcy. I wish I
could get it fixed because I hate to
give it up. However, last week it died 4
times on day and 3 the next. It took me
4 hours to drive 40 miles because it
kept dying and wouldn't restart immediately.
Overhead console,heated seats.
Find the reason that the car dies and
yet the dealers can not fix.
I wish I would have believed the
reviews before I bought my 2000 Grand
Cherokee. Nice car but things just
keep breaking. Like everybody else;
door-locks, brakes, weather stripping,
and fuel pump. If you buy this car I
GUARANTEE you will be spending money
on stipid repairs.
Great in the snow.
Fix the obvious problems everybody
seems to be having. I will not but
another Jeep again
