HIGH MAINTAINENCE AND COSTLY

I bought mine used. I read the reviews and could not believe it would be this bad. The first generation Compass is the poorest car jeep ever made. Dodge Caliber, Jeep Patriot and Compass are all the same and have the same issues. for starters it had three transmissions within 150k miles. Premature wear on the lower control arms and struts. Leaking roof through at the dome light. Every stereotypical issue that has been named, mine had it happen. I only fixed it because I had payments on it. Otherwise I would have scrapped it. Now I just keep it out of spite. I have over $18k invested into a car worth about $3500.00 or so. I highly recommend staying away from these cars. Mileage sucks for a four cylinder as well. I get about 22 at 70mph on mostly flat roads. Granted it is a 4WD model but it should still get about 30 or so in my opinion for a car this small.

It is a Jeep. Rides like a Jeep. Good room inside. Seats 4 adults, squeeze 5.

NEVER AGAIN

This vehicle was first car that I purchased along with being my first JEEP ever and let me just say that NEVER again will I step foot onto a Jeep Dealership. It could be the fact that they transmission they put in the vehicle is not serviceable as in you can't even have fluid added( was told this by a lady in the service department at the dealership)or could it be that the awful squealling sound when you go in reverse and use your brakes is only fixable by going 40mph and slamming on your brakes, or that I only have one more turn on the rotars and it's already warping again. Let's not mention the HORRIBLE blindspots that have contributed to SEVERAL close calls!

Ahhhh - right now what I can say. It gets bad gas mileage and I have only 6706 miles on it and already had it in service department 3 times with window switches and engine light comes on. There is no power.
