2006 Jeep Commander SUV 4dr SUV 4WD (3.7L 6cyl 5A)
I have owned the Jeep since Jan 06. At first loved it.It is the 3rd Jeep Ive had. Drove it with 4 adults and 2 kids on a 1000 mile 8 day road trip twice with no problems. Overall, I like the Jeep The biggest problem is that it has started to leak. I actually had standing water in my floor. Had to go a week befor they could get me in to fix had to ride with the stinky bacteria growing under me. yuck. The seat will stain with water, the windshield whistles, the middle console cubby needs to be more accesable, power adapters in middle row would be nice. The material on back of third row seat wears fast with storing everything in it.
The look, it drives like a car. Easy to park. Like having the third row, handy in case extra friends of my kids decide they need a ride. Adjustable foot pedals the best. I am short and now I don't have to ride 4" from the sterring wheel. Nice bright lights inside and out feel safe.
Push button on dash to open back gate, handle over window for passenger, the back window opens way too hard (it hit my daughter in the head) the windshield is a rock magnet (4 cracks in 1st year) The seat material is horrible

Right after the warranty was over the transmission went and needed to be replaced. The winsheild has been replaced twice because it wistles all the way down the highway and if a small pebble hits it the winshield cracks.
The shape of the vehicle is great. The stadium seating is awesome.
This is overall the best driving SUV I've ever drove. The steering, ride, and power is excellent. I went from a 4wd Tahoe to the Commander, and thought the fuel economy would be better on the 2wd Commander, but it's not. This thing loves gas. Be very aware of the 13 miles per gallon city and 15 hwy that I'm getting. I would hate to see what a 4wd gets. The interior is comfortable, but it is hard to see behind you, and hard to see the blind spot on the side. The 3rd row seat stands very high when up. And take up alot of room when down. Did I mention the transmission problems?
Nice, smooth ride. Great looking and comfortable. Easy to steer.
Hard to see out of. Poor fuel economy. 3rd row seat needs to be removable.
