Used 2005 Hyundai Sonata Consumer Reviews
Good 1st Car
I bought this car for my wife, whom is also an import, for a first car to learn with. I was pleasantly surprised with the handling. The car feels very nimble even in the mountains. The 4 cyl engine is smooth, but noisy. Not bad after getting moving at a moderate pace. Everything is built cheap and lightly, which probably explains the nimbleness. It has standard cloth seats which are not very comfortable. Good gas mileage.
My 3rd Hyundai sonata
I crashed my 03 Sonata it was a total loss (no injuries to anyone in my car). Bought an 04 and loved it, but saw the 05 GLS SV model with the bigger rims, homelink, sunroof and fell in love so I bought it. I still own my 1994 Excel and it runs great.

2005 Sonata GLS
The car's engine runs wonderfully. I feel a little surging with the transmission and may have to bring it in to see what's up with that -it could still just be breaking itself in... I don't know. I had to bring it back about a week after I bought it because one of the front passenger map lights wouldn't go off (they replaced a fuse...the service is quite prompt) Other than that, it's a well made vehicle and I'd buy this car again if I had to do it over again.
Good Value
The cost, warranty, appointments, and performance was just to compelling to pass up as we shopped for a second car. I was concerned about the engines responsiveness with a small V6, but was very pleasantly surprised.
2005 Hyundai Sonata
Not having much experience in car buying & owning at only 19 years old this car caught my eye. It has the performace needed for being a teenager. Has the confort, safety, room, & reliability as being a single parent. Out of my three cars I've owned (1994 Ford Probe, 2003 Ford Taurus, & this 2005 Hyundai Sonata) this is definitely the best. It is the most refined & the price is reasonable.
