Vehicle2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS 4dr Sedan (1.8L 4cyl 6A)
ReviewOnce the car reached 15000 miles the gas mileage improved. Slight squeak in the right front area of the dash windshield area that was corrected under warranty by the dealer. The car is fun to drive and has been trouble free so far. Checked out the 2017 Elantra recently and found they upgraded the engine to a 2 litre put in a height adjustible front passenger seat and a rear backup camera on the car all for the same price I paid for the 2013. Vehicle now has 45000 miles on it with no problems. Highway mileage lately giving 52 mpg (imperial gallon).

The EPA sets the mileage. Hyundai uses it. If you're using the MPG calculator in the car and not calculating it manually when you fill it up, you are not getting the real mileage. The ave. MPG readout in the car is useless. Mine said (2013 Elantra Ltd) 27 but I've always calc'd it manually after each fill-up and it was 32 mpg city/hwy. We'll see what happens on a long trip.Report it
