i have been driving this car for 2 months, and I thought I would get used to it but it just drives me crazy the way this car shifts into 4th gear at about 35 mph and then has no power. When you slow down it will shift fine. This is really annoying to me because I drive during rush hour traffic and the flow of traffic usually moves around 35-50 mph
i like the radio and mp3 input, also like the blue displays
correct the automatic transmission shifting problems
2007 Hyundai Elantra SE SULEV 4dr Sedan w/XM (2.0L 4cyl 4A)
I did extensive research and while there are cars in its class which have more style, more power, more reliability, more cargo room, more mpg, and get u more pats on the back, the Elantra scores high enough for me in all the categories above, but it comes in at 100's to 1000's of dollars cheaper than others in its class. Only 1400 miles on it, so my reliability rating is just my expectation based on last gen's Elantra's. The 132 hp is more than ample for everyday driving. Engine and cabin is fairly peaceful when cruising above the spd limit, but potholes can ruin that peace easily. A speedometer issue was fixed for free. MPG avg still only 27 in mixed hwy/city driving.
The feeling I got a killer deal, warranty, high expected reliability, most safety features in its class, interior that's refined, spacious and comfy, decent ergonomics, the 16" alloy wheels and 4 disc brakes. the slight irridescent flake in the black finish
Chrome accent windows, a more durable "dead pedal", cloth seats that don't attract dirt so easily. I like the foldable side vu mirrors, but they can be smaller, "on" setting on fan s/b on fan speed knob, hatchback(w/seats like Vibe) On CA models...Bluetooth
I traded in my BMW 328i for this Elantra and I really couldn't be happier. I do miss the luxury of the BMW, but I love the gas economy of this Elantra. I am getting about 38 MPG combined city/highway. The comfort is very nice and the interior is put together very well. Just yesterday I drove this car through very heavy rain (it was practically a monsoon), but I didn't lose traction even once while going in excess of 75mph through standing water. I have owned a Honda, Acura, Ford, BMW, and now a Hyundai, but I would put the Hyundai at the top of the list because of it's handling, reliability, and gas mileage.
I love the gas mileage and the car warranty the best.
