Used 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT 4dr Hatchback (2.0L 4cyl 6M) Consumer Reviews
Best Decision
Excellent engine with responsive acceleration, smooth ride, very comfortable, reliable, lots of room, love the interior - instruments are placed in a great location; easy read without taking eyes off of the road for any period of time. The exterior is beautiful with clean lines - gorgeous. The larger tires provide great traction in bad weather and I appreciate "hill" assistance because I drive a manual transmission. I have exceed the stated MPG. During on trip, I received 41 MPG.

I was deciding between this and a Honda hatch,i'm glad i got this. The best freaking car for the value, you wouldn't get a lot of the standard features say in a Civic or a Corolla than this Elantra GT. The pro's are the large screen for your radio dash which is perfect for backup, the easy shifting for the 6-speed, the car hugs the road like a suction cup, you don't feel the turn as much when turning, Bluetooth of course with your steering wheel mount, you get a sweet looking rims instead of hub caps. Everything is pretty nice for the value. So now here is the con's-I'm having an issue a very noticeable vibration with an intermittent lose of rpm for example when I'm seating at a red light, the car wants quit even while the gear is in neutral. Took it back to the dealer where i purchased it to get it looked at back in August of 2018, their technician only replicated once and couldn't get it to replicate again. The vibration still exist and maybe tried to quit on me once since then. On the issue with the front windshield wiper where people can't flip it up to wash the car is not a defect, it's a hidden feature, the manual booklet tells you on how to get into "maintenance mode" where you can flip it up like you normally see. The front bumper is made out cheap plastic, since mine is white, lots of chipped/scratches on it already. Your radio preset once program you can't delete it, the only thing you can do is reset you radio dashboard. My commute is pretty long so i average between 33 to 36 mpg and that's at 75% highway and 25% city but if more on city and less highway it'll get about 29-30. Besides the issue I'm having, you do get a lot car for your money and I still love it. This car is really not a GT unless you bump up to the Sport trim level. I just call this an Elantra Hatchback.

A Solid, Sporty, Economical Car...with One Caveat
This car is a solid performer with a sporty feel, comfortable seating, and excellent fuel economy. Hyundai seems to have put a lot of thought into the redesigned Hyundai Elantra GT and (after almost two years) the more I drive it, the more I like it. One caveat: Whoever designed the front end of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra GT should be fired. There is no solid bumper (like on my 2004 Hyundai Elantra) to protect the cheap, very exposed plastic grill Hyundai put on that thing. As a result, some jerk backed into my car while parking and punched a hole through the plastic grill that is one step above styrofoam in durability. Now I'm faced with at least a $500 repair (and I live on a fixed income!) because Hyundai designer Peter Schreyer didn't think this product through. Overall, however, I would recommend this model to my friends.
