Used 2003 Hyundai Accent Hatchback Consumer Reviews
Really excellent low-end car
We *were* a 100% Toyota family until we tried the Accent GSi looking for a 2nd Echo. Our criteria was just the best we could get for the least $$. We considered all the low-end cars: Mazda, Mitsubishi, Honda were too expensive; Kia's still a little on the fringe, North American is still a maintenance problem although the Cavelier/Sunfire powertrain was nice (simple/powerful). The Accent has 2 things that are truly excellent: excellent fit&finish (inside & out) and excellent handling (GSi is sport- tuned). Since the engine will be low- powered when you're buying economy; it's those other two features that can make your day-to-day driving a real pleasure.
exellent for the money!
Car delivered for the money is incredible. Car and company very underated in motor world, but things are changing due to high quality. Alote more car for the money than Civic.

Satisfied
I got the 5 spd manual 2003 GT model and added the cruise control after the sale for approx. $200. This car has been great, the only problem I had was the muffler corroding, and this was replaced under warranty. With the manual version I don't find any lack of power unless the A/C is on. The car is comfortable and has all of the features that I need in a car. So far I have only driven 48k in the car, but I far prefer it to the Sonata that I also own. Having got the sports version, my only real complaint was the fact that they put 'premium' tires on the car that had very little traction. Driving on snow and even wet streets was difficult until I replaced the tires.
I came for price, I'll stay for quality.
I bought this car because of the low price. I had just bought a house and traded in my convertible. I was very impressed by the build quality for the low cost. Although obviously there are better built cars, I believe that my $12k car is not one third the quality of a $36k car. Oh, dont forget the best warranty that is available anywhere on planet Earth!!
my accent
After owning a Toyota I dont feel this car quite measures up but it certainly qualifies as adequate in this price range.
