Used 2008 Honda Odyssey Consumer Reviews
Honda 2008 Odyssey Ex-L RES & NAV
We have had the van for close to a month now and it is everything we expected. The navigation system is not the best, but the screen that comes with it makes everything else easier to read/see. The navigation itself is always giving us the "easiest route" not the most economical one. The leather interior is so worth it and the speaker system is just fine. We paid $31,800 total (plus the 6% Indiana sales tax) and used an internet quote to get the price down to where we were happy. The gas mileage was the biggest negative, but we get about 17/21
Exceeds Expectations
We bought a 2008 EX-L just over 4 months ago and my wife (and I) couldn't be more pleased. We compared this vs. the Toyota Sienna, and while my wife liked the "softer/smoother" freeway ride of the Sienna, the Odyssey handled better than the Sienna when making any turns over 15 MPH. Around-town fuel economy averages about 19 MPG). The big test came last week when our family of 4 took a trip from So. Cal to the Bay Area. The Odyssey was *extremely* comfortable over the entire trip. The kicker was that I calculated that the van got **27.9 MPG** on the freeway. Avg speed: 75 MPH; cruise control on when possible; A/C on about 80% of the time. The variable-cylinder technology really works well!

Great Vehicle so Far!
This is our first Honda and we couldn't be more pleased. I am an engineer and appreciate what they have done to produce such a versatile vehicle. My wife loves the van and I have to say that I love it also. No problems so far. The ride is excellent and the handling is great. I have a high performance sports car so the comparison is valid. We went with the 08' because of the newer engine technology, options not included on the 07' model. and the new look. Pricing was higher, but we feel it was worth it. I just asked my wife if she had any other comments and she responded "I love it".
Front face got ugly, mis-located control
1. Additional KARR security system (cost $599, it raise your month payment $10 more) was a big/unwanted surprise on financial sign time. I almost walked out. 2.Front face got ugly. 2007s were much prettier. That ugly look made me hesitate till last moment. Accord is accord, Odyssey is odyssey. Real reason accord sell less than Camry is the look. Honda messed up with CR-V and accord, then odyssey. This is not a family look, it is a group-dummy look. Please leave civic and fit as are.
She loves the van
My wife had gone on record as saying she would never drive a minivan. Three kids later she's driving the Odyssey and loves it. The interior is extremely versatile and great room for the kids, their friends and all of the accumulated stuff. We've had it on several trips and it's performed great with just over 25 mpg on the highway and around 19-20 around town. The seats are comfortable and it drives more like a car than most vans and handles surprisingly well. It does have a lot of wind noise, primarily from the front passengers seat, but we just turn the radio up. The breaks are softer than what I'd prefer but not to the point of feeling like we're in danger. My wife's glad we bought it.
