Purchased this vehicle to replace horrible Dodge Caravan. Very happy with Honda except for the use of very cheep interior plastics and poor fuel economy. (12-15 city/ 17-20 hwy.) The plastic around the glove box, cup holders, and floor boards have many scratches and look worn.
Powerful engine, interior flexibility, sliding side doors, exterior design.
We have bought only Honda and Toyota since 1976. This Odyssey makes a loud noise after driving on the highway for a few hours. Maybe power steering? Don't know and the dealer says they would not be able to find it till it is happening which is never when I am in town or when they are open. I am thinking to trade it for a sienna. Never heard of not finding a problem like that. Don't they have computerized systems that find problems? Not happy with service at Springfield Honda so may trade. If I do, I will never buy another Honda. Want this dealt with before my warranty is up.
I actually like the car itself. Comfortable with controls within easy access. It rides nice, but a little noisier than the Toyota sienna. Good pickup when needed
Better mileage, maybe a hybrid would be nice. Also, the rear liftgate to be automatic on the EX-L or at least could be added if need be.
Well, I wish Honda had been a little more truthful in their mpg est.the sticker said 16-22 mpg. real life= 14-16. just awful. I also tow a pop-up trailer w/this van and even though it is rated at 3500 lbs. w/the tow pkg,it still has a difficult time pulling 1400 lbs. Am currently looking for a different vehicle. But for someone who doesn't care about gas efficiency - this van would do fine. It is comfortable w/a car like ride. However, the handling is a bit sloppy.
iPod interface. Easier to remove 2nd row seats. Better gas mileage. Remote or power rear hatch opener. Sliding or openable rear hatch window.
Great vehicle, so far no problems. Excellent gas mileage for a van, avg. 17.5 city and just got 25 on the highway during a recent trip. A little road noise on some pavement. Excellent handling, much more agile than the Sienna.
