Vehicle2013 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
ReviewWell after much research I took the plunge.
The water was filled with disappointment.
The dealer could not program the hands free phone, delivered the car dirty and not serviced, and tried to sell all kinds of useless add-ons.
Not what I remembered from my last Honda.
The innovation is just not there.
Now for all of you poor souls who looked and looked for the wiper indicator its not there.
Honda America has some kind dip stick to let you know if wiper fluid is low.
Won't find out until you are in a dangerous situation and no way to clear your windsheild.
The car was delivered with an empty tank.
Watch out for tranmission surge while in Econ Mode.
Best FeaturesThe paint seems to be better than other manufacturers.
Worst Features1 Gas mileage in town is 17.5 mpg. 2 No indicator for windsheild wiper fluid level. 3 No way to determine level visually. 4 Gas mileage is terrible. 5 Excessive heat build up in sunny days. 6 Climate control does not register correct cabin temperature. 7 Need better IR reflection in glass. 8 Rear release hangs up. 9 Transmission hunts for gears in Econ mode. 10 Blue tooth is a joke. 11 No voice recognition for phones. 12 Keeps asking for Wallpaper when clock is engaged. 13 High speed road noise. 14 Trailer hitch for $1300 is a joke. 15 Dealers need to trained to know how to check for fluid levels. 16 Plastic, plastic, hard plastic. Ran out of characters remaining.

Just came back to the site. We have owned the CRV since January 2013. With respect to the transmission I have to say the downshift on a slight incline causes the CRV to lunge forward. With that said they all do. Economy in town is around 18 mpg. In the summer you will want to take the vehicle out of econ mode to keep the AC running all the time. On a hot day dial the temp all the way to the left until you reach Lo on the screen. This will cool you down quickly. This is not in the manual. When you get the vehicle washed the outdoor temperature indicator will go bonkers. It will take three or four days to reset itself. The passenger seat will recline but only to have an uncomfortable protrusion in your back. Don't think you will recline on a long trip unless you bring a pillow. Now the dealer has been good and the CRV is the right size for the reduced parking spaces now appearing in the nation. Will check back in another six months.Report it

What do you mean by transmission surge in econ mode? I am looking at getting a new SUV after my little Kia Soul has made me afraid to drive long distances because of a huge clunk sound while on cruise - sounds like it's trying to upshift to keep speed current on cruise but the sound makes you think the engine is falling out. Taken it to dealer twice for same problem, but they can't duplicate it (car has to be drive 4-5 hrs straight for this to happen)...afraid to drive on highway now. If CRV does this too, well this would be one to eliminate.Report it

In terms of build quality this review is correct. Hond ( or all manufactureres) are cheating US customers. Just look at the Same Vehicle sold in Europe. Read some video reviews. just one look you can make out the overall material qualirt inside out. pain work plastics and everythig. The in front of European CR-V american version looks like a Chinese imitation. Europesn version is high quality upscale vehicle. Apprently this is the case with many manufacturers. Not sure this reflects in the price point though. Even look at the Canadian made Hondas. they are vvisibly better quality than those made in US /Mexican Factories. They are gping to make Acuras in US factories. verys fisrt looks the quality is strikingly different. Its a mystery.Report it
