Vehicle2012 Honda CR-V EX 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5A)
ReviewJust got my 2012 CR-V EX and I'm loving it. This is my first SUV ever and second Honda vehicle, after a 1998 Civic. I'm very well impressed with the level of sophistication and versatility of this vehicle for this price segment. After reading some expert reviews complaining about the CR-V being a little under powered, I can only say that unless you have a large family and/or large towing needs, this vehicle provides enough acceleration and handling to comply with most driver demands, especially in terms of fuel economy.
Last but not least, Honda has a great lease deal going on that also added to the equation...

I've just drove 1000 miles from the Bay area to Arizona which totally added to my enjoyment of this vehicle. It feels like driving a more expensive car in terms of handling and comfort. My average MPG was around 30 while traveling between 75 and 80 MPH, which is pretty impressive for this type of vehicle. Driving with the ECON activated is just fine in most road conditions but when ascending a rather long and/or steep hill is always better to either switch off the ECON or use the little switch (3L) that engages a lower gear which helps to maintain constant speed while climbing with the cruse control activated. Kudos to Honda for this wonderful CR-V which combines drivability and practicality in such a nice package.Report it

Perhaps my only suggestion would be to add a slightly bigger gas tank (18 gls) which would allow up to 500 miles plus per tank.Report it
