2004 Honda CR-V EX AWD 4dr SUV (2.4L 4cyl 5M)

Review

Outside of the disapointing average gas
millage, the car is very practical,
looks great, is built well, and a lot of
fun to drive.

Review

Peppy, good acceleration, great gas
mileage. The swing up back window makes
for easy loading of small items without
having to open the entire back door,
which by the way, has a very large
opening. Cargo space in back is plenty
big. Location of instrument cluster is
easily readible. Standard CD/Cassette
player one of the best features. Seats
comfortable, but a little stiff.

Best Features

Like the standard CD/Cassette player. Operation of the power windows and door locks. Keyless entry and anti theft system lowered Insurance rates. Gas mileage one of the reasons I bought one.

Worst Features

Steering wheel (although adjustable) leans too much at the top towards the windshield; more "softer" seat cushions; needs a standard V6 engine to give it better pulling power for those of us that don't want 4WD. Otherwise, a piece of engineering feat.

Review

I've had my car for 17 mos., & have
had problems with the A/C 3 times. The
1st time the dealership claimed a rock
had penetrated my grill & put a hole
in the A/C causing fluid to leak. The
warranty wouldn't cover it, & I had to
pay for repairs. The 2nd time the A/C
failed, I took it to the dealership &
was told the condenser fell apart.
Warranty covered it. The dealership
service dept. said that this was a
problem in faulty design for
2003/2004 models & they had had the
problem often. I didn't have it for
more than 2 days after the repairs and
the A/C has started fading in and out.

Best Features

Center console

Worst Features

Improve luxory of interior, improve the design, specifically with the grill and the air conditiner performance.

Review

I just got my CR-V 3 weeks ago. This
car was not my first choice, but after
extensive research and reading all the
reviews, I decided to take one out for
a test drive and I was impressed. I
love the safety reviews. And the
Honda reputation is unsurpassed. The
interior room is amazing, and yet it
is easy to drive. The turning radius
is far superior than my old Altima.
And the gas mileage is the same as my
Altima. The 4cyl is very peppy and
cruises at 65mph with no difficulty.
I love it!

Best Features

I love the foldable middle tray, and all the little cubbies. The 6 CD changer is great. Sitting up high really gives me an excellent view of what is going on around me.

Worst Features

The drivers seat needs to go a little further back for my husband who is 6'3", but he says it is not uncomfortable for him to drive. The center headrest gets in the way of the rear view, but that is detachable, so it is really not a problem.
