I bought this car a few months ago and it is the best car I've been in in a while. It handles great, fuel efficient, cute, and great features. I was able to get it for below MSRP, so talk your dealer down. I would recommend this car to anyone, if you plan on having more than two people in the car it's a bit of pain to get in and out from the back so much, but I love it for my college and commuting life.

Is it a lemon

I am getting about 27/31 on the fuel economy, the spring on the seat belt retract device causes the seat belt to fly into the door panel cause small marks. The drivers door does not close unless it is slammed. the body panels on the drivers side don't line up like they should. Is this because it was built in america i wonder. The passenger airbag light comes on half the time. When the brake is applied and you hit a bump or going over rough terrain the brake pedal feels really wear, like something broke off or is loose. I think getting the air deflector for the sunroof is a must.

What a difference between my old 1998 Civic EX and the 2006. Unbelievable!!! The tightness of handling is incomparabe. The exterior styling looks like a baby Beamer! I was seriously test-driving the Acura TSX, but for the $10,000 savings, I had to buy the Civic. Wish list would include optional leather seats. Also surprised the visors are not lit - they're substantial, but lack lights.

The car responds quickly and smoothly on start but after 80 mph the speedometer rises too slowly especially when the car is full. But that' just the beginning. The driver's window came out of frame after about 1.5k miles. Later the interior started to fall apart small plastic pieces in the front corner popped out. After 20k miles front brakes came apart, battery was replaced, the starter and the alternator followed by the ignition key was giving problems. I didn't recognize it. I replaced cpu. The trunk lock broke at like 200 miles of use and the back seat open handle broke off easily. the exterior plastic started 2 fall off recently pins that hold them came out.

Great mileage--little else...

Owned the 2006 Civic LX coupe for three years. Great mileage, but terrible in the snow- ascending the slightest hills were a challenge. Tires wearing unevenly. Hesitation starting in cold weather. Suspension squeaks in cold weather. Interior plastics cheap and scratch seemingly just by looking at them. Car very unsteady on the highway especially in cross winds and most use the foot to the floor for acceleration. Only had 17,000 mi and brakes were worn. Front end so low would scrape parking barriers. Paint chips easily, needs thicker clearcoat. A/C not the best. Traded for Ford Mustang. It's good to be home!
