2026 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)
I have owned 5 CR-V’s since 2002. My current model is a 2021 Touring that is very comfortable and has been flawless. It is time to trade so I test drove the new 2026 CR-V EX-L with every intention of purchasing the vehicle based on my long history and satisfaction with the CR-V. I was very surprised when test driving the ‘26 model just how much it had changed and mostly not for the … better.
I liked the gear shifter and center console layout better than mine, but that was about it. During the 10 mile test drive, I felt as if I was flighting to keep the vehicle in its lane. The lane keep assist was engaged, so maybe that had something to do with it. The road noise was quite noticeable in the cabin and you could hear every road imperfection. I also could not get comfortable in the seat whatsoever. Overall, not a comfortable or quiet ride.
I don’t know if it was something with the particular vehicle I test drove. The salesman checked the air pressure in the tires, which was fine. I was happy to get back in the comfort and quiet of my ‘21 CR-V and drive it back home.
After 23 years driving CR-V’s, which have been fantastic vehicles, I am now looking at other brands for the first time, and also debating on keeping my ‘21 model for as long as it lasts.
