Vehicle2001 GMC Jimmy SLS 2WD 2dr SUV (4.3L 6cyl 5M)
ReviewI bought my 2001 GMC Jimmy SLS used in 2004. It was a dealer buy-back because of electrical problems. I have 118,000 miles on it with no serious mechanical repairs. Yes, it has needed brakes, but that's normal. Had a serious vibration problem which was found to be missing washers in the hood hinges. A cheap repair and it's quiet. I like this vehicle a lot. My only regret is that it isn't 4 wheel drive.
Best FeaturesInterior is roomy and well thought out. Instrumentation is easy to see. Front leg room is very good. Back folds down flat for cargo/pets.
Worst FeaturesGetting in and out of the back seat can be a real pain. But once you're in there, it's comfortable.

Hi, I just bought a 2001 Jimmy 2dr base with only 21K miles on it yesterday. I felt amazing about the deal... that is until I started reading all of these nightmare stories online. It Seems like 99% of Jimmy owners have had problems getting these cars to start up and spend a ton of money into fixing everything (fuel pumps, sensors, wires, oil pressure, gauges, coils... etc) that never fix the problem. Was this your experience? Do you remember having to spend a lot of money on repairs or having problems with the car starting? I am hoping most of these owners had the 4dr and 4x4 series and our 2dr base is the good one. Just looking for some piece of mind. Thank you! CalebReport it
