Multiple safety issues outweigh the positives.

ReviewIf Ford would just stand by their products and fix the numerous safety issues, this would be a great van.
Best FeaturesWith the third row seat removed, there is tons of room. Our giant-breed dogs fit in comfortably, and thanks to the space between the rear seats we've been able to load up with building supplies (such as long boards) that were too long to fit in vans/SUVs with bench seats in back. The drive is quite comfortable, the heater/defroster works really well, and the back of the van has separate temperature controls. I apprecaite that the road noise is not bad. The van has a very good crash rating and having the two sliding doors is wonderful too.
Worst FeaturesNow the bad news...The van has serious "quirks" and thanks to Ford's lousy customer service and unwillingness to stand behind it's products, the van deserves it's horrible reputation. The ABS and Brake warning lights come on when the engine is warm, and this can be a fire hazard (fluid drips onto a circuit board for the ABS) plus having the ABS not function is problematic, but Ford will not issue a recall and repair is about $1500. The back axle is subject to a recall (they have rusted through on numerous occasions and caused deaths) but Ford is very slow to get replacements manufactured, and will not even have their techs inspect the back axle for flaws until parts are available.
