2004 Ford Mustang Premium 2dr Convertible (3.8L 6cyl 4A)
I was excited to finally drive a Mustang, that is why
I decided to rent one for a few days. The 6 cyl
engine with the automatic tranmission is
underpowered. This car is slow and feels heavy. The
interior build quality seems very cheap. The plastic
holding the window buttons on the driver's side
door is already loose (at 14K miles!). I am 6'2" and
the height of the interior seems OK. The seats are
alright as well. The 6 disc changer stereo sounds
good. I have not tried to remove the top, because it
seemed complicated. This might be an OK car, but I
would expect much more from a Mustang in terms
of performance (even if this is an automatic one).
I like the Mustang look.
More power, better quality interior. It is
unacceptable to have the plastics separate at only
14K miles. The pedals are a bit uncomfortable and
the instrument panel is too far to reach.
This is my first American made sport
car and I can say I really like the
power and performance. I got the
competition orange in a convertible.
I've had numerous foriegn cars in the
past but my son talked me into buying
the SVT and I enjoy driving it.
I love the 6 speed transmission. The
competition orange looks great. I
like the interior room too.
I like to see some lower profile
wheels like PZeros and I would like to
see them come out with calipers that
are colored (Yellow, Red, etc)...This
would add to the look...
I have always liked the Ford Mustang.
My first and second cars were both
Mustangs. Although I am somewhat
unhappy with the 2004 (I could not
afford the GT), I have more good to say
about it than bad. I enjoy driving it
daily to and from work. Acceleration is
quick with the manual transmission and
gas mileage is still pretty good for a
V-6. The seats aren't the best, but
I'm not uncomfortable in them.
Steering wheel cruise control buttons
are handy. Two tone "retro" styling of
Use less plastic for the interior, it
cheapens the car. Give the seats a
little more style because they seem
2004 Ford Mustang GT Premium 2dr Coupe (4.6L 8cyl 5M)
Bought my wife a mustang after 33 years
of her yearning for one. Tried the v-
6, too slow, bought the GT w/ 5 speed.
Took a month to adjust the seats right.
Turned a 9.3/72 mph in the 1/8th out-of-
the-box and that was with an RT of
about a year. Super ride, good MPH (27)
the most fun car I've had since '71.
No problems in 10000 miles at all. Red
line is about 6300 RPM. Excellent,
Rumble from exhausts. Shifing for
myself. Blowing doors off kids. Seats
are comfortable when properly adjusted.
Comments on paint (Crimson Red) and
stripping on 40th Anniv. Edition
More bells and whistles, Redesign back
seat for useablity. More/better cargo
space. Make the phony scoop functional.
