2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra SVT Cobra 2dr Coupe (4.6L 8cyl S/C 6M)
bought my cobra used with 4600 miles.
had the drivers side head replaced
under warranty at 5700 due to valve
guide wear. ford has a TSB for this
issue. you can tell if a cobra has the
problem by listening for a tick that is
present during idle. it is NOT injector
noise but a moderately loud ticking.
anyway its fixed and i like the car for
what it is, but dont listen to these
other reviews saying it will dust a z06
because it wont, not stock anyway.
these cars are also very heavy and hard
to launch out of the hole.
lots of torque, the exterior design is
great, subtle and understated. the
blower whine is addictive.
get quality control in line, lots of
rattles and the mach 460 system sucks.
i also dont like the suede/leather
combo, i like all leather because if
you spill something, its not a holy
bitch to clean up.
This machine will blow the doors off of
just about anything on the road, short
of a Ferrarri. With very minor
modifications, the robust cast iron V8
block will take a significant amount of
more boost. A smaller pulley, free
flowing cat back exhaust system, and
new air filter will have this pony up
around 500 HP. My only complaints are
the shoddy trim quality and dated
design of the interior, and
the "blender-like" whine of the
supercharger. Overall, a very fun
vehicle to drive
and it's certainly a head turner. Ford
has grossly under stated it's
horsepower at 390 HP, which is actually
near 430 HP.
The 112 cu. in. Eaton roots type
supercharger, adding 110+ HP to the
naturally aspirated 4.6L 4V predecessor.
New interior design and more careful
attention to interior trim fit and
