I'm 70 years old, and have owned approximately 80 cars in my lifetime, including street rods, muscle cars from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. My '98 Cobra, is one of the best all around performance cars, that I have owned. The car looks great, sounds great, accelerates great, and gets great gas mileage, for a performance car {I've gotten 27 mpg at 70 miles an hour, on the Interstate. It's now 2018, and I still love it.

my blown cobra

32v + boost = amazing amounts of power. my 97 cobra has a vortech sq-s trim @12psi and runs low 11s allday with a very safe tune. I think the editor review is ridiculous. And this is a SPORTS CAR with a SOLID REAR END. Of course its going to drive hard with a stiff suspension, and of course potholes are going to go BUMP. *rolleyes* Sounds like some of these people need to turn in their Cobras and head over to the Escort aisle.

This car has been fun and is a very comfortable drive but have had aprx $3300 worth of work done to it that luckily was covered under the extended warranty. No engine problems, has always been a strong running car but have had a few rear end problems. Starting the creek and make noises again. : /

98 Cobra - last live rear axle

I have been pretty happy with 98 Cobra convertible and have owned it for almost 5 years. The 98 model looks great and has been relatively "bulletproof". The 98 model handles very well for a live-rear-axle car, although it is no BMW M3 in the curves. Pros: 1. The 98 Cobra engine sounds fantastic - almost like a Ferrari 2.looks great 3. good acceleration, handling and braking 4. reliability is excellent compared to most hi-perf cars 5. Works as both a performance car and a daily driver 6. Mach 460 is a really good OEM stereo - you won't need to upgrade. 7. In summary, an excellent balance of performance, driveability, and low cost.

Tons of high RPM power. Love the angry 32 valve DOHC V8. Handles great. Well built. Beutiful exhaust note. people really notice this beast. All around nice car, not just a straightline performance car. no one will regret buying this car. Pop the clutch shift at 6800 RPM's, snatch second fishtail hit sixty before you know it and listen to that mean Cobra motor sing.
