Used 2017 Ford Focus Sedan Consumer Reviews
Don’t buy a Focus please the worst car
Horrible experience this car is a piece of crap we have problems since we bought it. We bought it from the Dealer brand new. Problems with the transmission take it all the time and they always say nothing is wrong. Now they are suing Ford Motor Company because a lot of people having same issue but now you suppose have 100 miles warranty but so what, if you take in and they always said is nothing wrong with the car.

Widespread engine issues, beware!
My engine went out at 78,000 miles. I bought this care new and always maintained it properly. Now reading reviews, this appears to be a widespread problem with this model and year. Shame on Ford as this should be a recall.

Happy with my basic transport
Have put about 4,500 miles on my manual-transmission 2.0l Focus S. The ride and handling are super, even with the most basic suspension and tires. The engine performs very well, with good torque and a willingness to rev. The car feels very refined and is definitely fun to drive. Some of the interior materials feel a bit cheap, but overall this is an excellent value and a no-regrets buy. I'm sorry to see that Ford will not be making these anymore.

So far OK, hoping for a few more years
I've had my Focus for just under a year and 11,000 miles. So far it's been just oil changes and driving, with my only concern a slight growling noise that started in March which may be the pulley for the serpentine belt--that the dealer said wasn't a problem. My '06 Ford Focus was a nightmare with a blown transmission, two alternators, wheel bearings, motor mounts, axle seals, and so on. I only looked at another Focus as this was a $4,000 off special from the dealer and it was a manual transmission--my '97 Tracer manual had lasted for 11 years. It's been a sporty, well handling, surprisingly fast little car, I'm hoping with the manual transmission I'm avoiding most of the problems reported with these cars, but if it starts giving me trouble I'll trade it for a Toyota.
