Used 2002 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Very Happy
I love my Focus. I found a Mach Edition in about perfect condition. Had a lot of highway miles on it, bought with 60k, up to 80k now. I actually ran into the other owner, (which was a 1 in a million chance!) while delivering pizzas, and she said it had been the best car she ever had. I'd like a truck or SUV but the only problem this car has given me is a CD jam. I had to dismantle the cd player and take out the 6 CD's; it ruined 4. It also seems to want to eat tires and is very figgedity about balance, always has a little vibration. Other than that, CANNOT complain!
A treat to drive
I haven't had a single problem with my focus. So far, I love everything about it. It has plenty of power, thoughtful extras, and TONS of space!

Focus on Pain
This is an agency car that I drive on trips of at least an hour each way. I have never driven a car with a more uncomfortable driving position. I am by no means unusually tall or short (5'9"), yet there is no way to position the seat where I can comfortably reach the steering wheel without having my knees at my throat. The car has excellent handling and a great stereo, but every time I get out of the car I feel like I need to see a massage therapist. Unless you are prepared to sit in the engine, I would strongly discourage purchasing this car. And that's not even taking into account being the second-ugliest vehicle on the road today!
love it
had 6 months without any problems at all. decent engine, excellent handling, great hatchback design, great stereo, good mileage. everything seems to work well and intelligently together. can't say enough good things about this car.
Excellent Value
5000 trouble-free miles. Roomy, inexpensive ($12.7K after rebate) great handling and very good performance with Zetec/5 spd (auto trans costs more and saps power, you don't want it!). This is an easy car to drive quickly but can carry 4 big people in comfort. Small items: The center armrest gets in the way of shifting--get rid of it. The power locks insist on locking all doors but do not unlock them when you arrive. Thus the pass & rear doors must constantly be unlocked doors with the button/fob. Would be nice to have trunk lever to open from outside.
