Used 2000 Ford Focus Consumer Reviews
Never Again!
I will never again purchas a Ford vehicle. At 19 years old, the Ford Focus was the first vehicle that was truly 100% mine. Within the first week I received a notice in the mail regarding a fuel hose being recalled. It has all been downhill since then. I keep up to date with routine maintenance but in the past two years alone, I have had to replace the ignition, fuses, vents, seat adjustment handles, radiator, various parts of the transmission..the list goes on and on. Every time I brought it into the shop I was urged to get rid of my Focus. Thousands of dollars later, I'm finally listening! As soon as I trade this puppy in, I'm washing my hands not only of the Focus but of Ford entirely.
Darn good car!!!
I have not had any problems with this car. It looks sporty, and I have even had a guy ask me if it was a BWM! The car doesn't rattle and squeak when I go over bumps or anything. I have the Zetec engine and it is very quite!
Recall Car of the Year
Fails to meet all the hype of car of the year. The numerous recalls took all the fun out of driving a fairly progressive vehicle design (among domestics).
Make My Next Car A Honda
I purchased this car two years ago and for the first 15,000 miles it was a great car. It now has 44,000 miles on it and it has been a nightmare! Besides the numerous recalls on this car, the following parts have been replaced: alternator, fuel pump,battery,I.P.S. sensor-twice!,drivers seat bracket-twice!,headlight lenses-three times!,rear wheel bearings- three times!,trans. computer reprogrammed-slamming into gears, fuel inj. computer reprogrammed-no starts!,front end linkage+tie rods!-And I don't beat on my car at all!
Fun little car
Ford built a fun little car. Only problem after 36,000 miles is the annoying transmission squeal driving at speeds between 63 and 69 miles per hour. Dealer says this is a design flaw and completely unfixable. Which leaves me driving either over or under the speed limit on my daily freeway commute to work. This squeal could be a contributing factor in road rage.
