Vehicle2013 Ford Focus ST 4dr Hatchback w/EcoBoost (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
ReviewAfter almost three months of waiting on the car to be built due to delays in parts the car arrived.
I ordered my Performance Blue ST with the ST3 package and a moon roof which means it came with everything.
Its a very spacious car for a compact and comfortably seats four adults.
The Recaro Seats in the front take a little getting used to but are very comfortable.
The 6 speed manual which is standard is one of the best manuals I ever driven (a 1968 Corvette, a 72 pinto, 92 storm, 04 Corvette, you get the idea I've driven a few manuals).
The Turbo really does provide the extra punch to make this car really fun to drive.
GAS MILEAGE so far 25 combined MPG (80% highway) 87 octane.
Best FeaturesThe Ford Sync and Ford touch and the overall layout of the instrumentation in the vehicle is extremely functional and dispite the bad press the Sync system has been getting Ford has apparently worked out the issues for the 2013 models becuase I've had no issues. The HID lights and cornering lights are well worth the extra cash. I have found them very useful when driving in dark subdivisions. The hatchback and storage in the car is amazing, I am able to remove the front wheel from my bicycle and it fits inside the car easily. Overall styling of the car is very sporty and sets it off from the other Focus models.
Worst FeaturesHeads Up Display (HUD) would be great. Also, if you have an IPhone your out of luck regarding text messaging and the Ford Sync. Apparently, FORD and APPLE cannot get on the same page regarding the technology (all other phone functions work just fine). More colors would be nice, some of the colors available on the other Focus models are not available for the ST. FYI - The Performance BLUE has a bit of a purple hint, still very nice color just not like the other Ford Blue you might see on the lot. Better gas mileage, but I was told that as the car learns my driving the gas mileage should improve. Time will tell.
