The F-350's maximum conventional towing capacity is more than 20,000 pounds when properly equipped. Set your F-350 up for fifth-wheel towing and you can pull as much as 32,500 pounds. Either way, you've pretty much got the capability to pull any big recreational or commercial-oriented trailer. Or if hauling is what you need, the F-350 can take on as much as 7,850 pounds of payload in its cargo bed depending on the truck's configuration.

Towing and hauling are just two of the tasks assigned to a heavy-duty pickup truck. When you're spending this kind of money, your rig needs to work hard, but it also needs to play hard and look good doing it. That's where the F-350 Tremor comes in. This is an off-road version of the Super Duty that adds a healthy dose of visual attitude combined with serious capability when the going gets tough. You can even equip it with an integrated winch offering 12,000 pounds of capacity.

Ford also offers a wide range of cabs, bed lengths and trim levels for the F-350, covering the spectrum from a basic, affordable work truck to a fancy, plush and technologically advanced luxury model. In short, if you're looking for a specific feature or function in a heavy-duty truck, the Ford F-350 likely offers it.

Which F-350 Super Duty does Edmunds recommend?

Ford offers the F-350 in six trim levels, and the Lariat trim is the most versatile. It's available in SuperCab and crew-cab styles, with single or dual rear wheels, and with all three engine choices. Plus, the Lariat trim is your ticket to leather seats, the Tremor package, the new adaptive steering technology and the new Lariat Black Appearance package.

2021 Ford F-350 Super Duty models

The 2021 Ford F-350 is available in XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum and Limited trim levels. Regular cabs come in XL and XLT trim only with an 8-foot-long cargo bed. SuperCabs add the Lariat trim to the availability list, as well as a shorter 6.75-foot bed option. Crew Cabs are offered with all trims and both cargo beds. You can option any F-350 with the 8-foot bed to have dual rear wheels.

A 6.2-liter gasoline V8 (385 horsepower, 430 lb-ft of torque) is standard. Upgrades include a 7.3-liter gas V8 (430 hp, 475 lb-ft) or a turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8 (475 hp, 1,050 lb-ft). In the F-350, all three engines use a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive is optional.

With XL trim, the F-350 includes:

2019 Ford F-350 Super Duty King Ranch 4dr Crew Cab 4WD SB (6.2L 8cyl 6A)

I traded in a 2015 F350 King Ranch for the 2019 F350 and so far I love it. I hated the doors and front end on the 15 but Fords new body style has overcome all that. The doors shut like a luxury car. This is absolutely the finest pickup I have ever sat in, drove, or used. It rides better than my 99, 02, 03, and 13. It is quieter than all of them, gets better mileage than all of them, and would run circles around all of them in terms of power, acceleration, and towing. 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty Limited 4dr Crew Cab 4WD LB DRW (6.7L 8cyl Turbodiesel 6A)

2018 F-350 XLT 6.7L SRW super crew with 8" bed purchased 6/28/18. First, this thing tows like a beast! When merging into traffic give the turbos a few seconds to spin up to get huge amounts of torque you can feel. I have used the truck on the farm to pull three fallen red oak trees at the same time all chained together out of my field (the tractor is having some software issues go … figure), the truck did this in 4x4 low and at about 1600-1800 rpm and the motor didn't sound like it was working very hard. As for MPG's pulling my gooseneck loaded with a trailer depending on terrain (hilly or flat) the mpg's can range between 9-11mpg according to the fuel trip computer. The truck slows equally as well the brakes are nice and strong and the engine brake does a great job of controlling the truck's speed downhill while being pushed by a gooseneck trailer loaded down with a tractor with software problems. The interior is not bad everything I would expect in a basic work truck just with a whole bunch of room inside. Best thing is so much leg room the grandkids in the back seat their muddy boots can't reach the back of my seat, again it's an XLT I didn't need platinum or Limited too fancy for me for what I use the truck for that being said the interior appointments were not lacking for me. The rear view camera is really helpful hooking up the trailer and also for figuring out how close I am to hitting the barn door. The fuel tank holds 48gal of diesel at $3.29/gal from a 1/4 tank it costs $107 to fill up that's a consideration, lucky for me I can write off fuel costs. It's a tall and long truck so parking up close at Wal-Mart is a no go but you will get plenty of exercise walking from the far end of the lot since the truck's length takes up about 3-4 feet of the space behind it or in front depending on how you park. The height is a bonus as you gives you good 360 view of your surroundings. Payload I had a full pallet of fencing timbers made of locust and the truck squatted a few inches but didn't bottom out. The aluminum bed is holding up pretty well the ford bed coating is pretty tough I use a piece of 4x8 plywood to keep dings to a minimum. the truck is comfortable and so far reliable. I have no intentions of modifying anything in the powertrain or suspension because the price of trucks nowadays I want this thing to be around for a longtime so I wont have to make another monthly payment equivalent to a monthly small house payment. I use a beater f-150 to do a lot of running around town to get parts for the machines

I bought this truck to tow a 13000 pound 41 foot fifth wheel. We did one quick weekend after 1000 miles on the odometer. What a monster.
