Used 2002 Ford F-350 Super Duty Consumer Reviews
2002 F350 LB, CC, 4x4, Dually, 7.3 PSD
I purchased this truck from the original owner when it was 5 years old. Prior was a 12 valve Dodge 3500 4x4. It did okay with the 12' camper and even a 40' 5th wheel toy hauler when we bought it new. After we put a '66 Bronco in the back the Dodge fell on its face. By change I found my Ford for sale in a guy's front yard 5 years old and 58K on the odometer. It's been 17 years now and I wouldn't trade it for a new one ($100K+). Wife hated the Dodge as it's front passenger seat only went forward and back and made her feel like she was in a high chair with her feet dangling off the floor. She LOVES the F350 with it's power front seats (both of them). One trip, she drove, where I left the tuner on the 80 h.p. economy mod she said it acted like a sport car in its Excelleration. The trans was not the problem in my case but the torque converter lost the clutch material and dumped junk through out the trans. Rebuild time, but a quality rebuild and many thousands of miles later "No problems" Normal wear and tear items Interior leather upholstery has be covered since we got it and is still perfect. I turned down $60K for it a couple years ago. Fool you say; Not when it cost more than a $100K to replace it and it still isn't as good as the 7.3 liter PSD. Last year I purchased one of the last FORD factory 7.3 rebuild kits for if and when the engine gets tired. That what I think of this vehicle. With 244K on the odometer now it's only half way through it's expected life spam (engine). I'll start over then. I take it out of the garage when I need to do some heavy haulin' Change oil and filters regularly and it's at least a 500,000 mile engine. BTW. 2002 7.3 with an automatic trans have "NO" smog devises from the factory. Vehicle details doesn't list a 7.3 in any model so I left it blank
