2017 Ford F-150 Lariat 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 6.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 6A)
I spent a bit a time reviewing the trucks of the Big 3 online. But I narrowed it down to the F-150 after talking to many of my friends or family that currently have one. I could not find anyone to had much negative to say about them. Most everyone loved their Ford 150, even if it was several years old.
5k miles in and still loving my truck!

2017 Ford F-150 Lariat 4dr SuperCrew 4WD 6.5 ft. SB (5.0L 8cyl 6A)
My first Ford. While truck shopping I was between the Tundra and F150. The Tundra is beautiful! Rides a little bulky, lags in technology. The F150 just glides when you drive it. Instrument panels are bright and easy to use/read. Power and USB options everywhere you look. Very comfortable ride. Often there is a vibration but then again I live in Ga, roads here suck and yes..you're … driving a truck. Gas MPG is pretty decent for truck this size. I am averaging 16-17 city. I dont stomp on it much even though I installed a Roush intake and Flowmaster super 40 9" muffler. This thing is loud! Has a very nice kick. When you need the power, this 5.0 can move. I am 5k miles in and still rides great. I talk hype, so why the 4 stars than 5? I have read other reviews about faulty alarm system. I stopped to get gas and my kids stayed in the truck. Out of habit, I lock the truck and fill up. The alarm goes off and the kids did not open any doors. I disarm, and lock the truck again, moment later, alarm goes off again. A friend of mine has same truck, King Ranch. He mentioned when you turn the truck off your panel gives you an option for all sensors or outside perimeter only. Apparently the truck has sensors inside similar to a house alarm, if motion is detected, the alarm goes off. A safety feature so you do not leave kids or animals in a hot truck, alarm would draw attention. I never knew this.. anyone confirm this? Transmission.. not so great. I often feel a small jerk downshifting from 5-4, or sometimes shifting up 3 to 4. If I approach a stop or yield on a decline road, the transmission will shoot to 1st gear so if i do not stop fully, you get a very nasty jerk when you accelerate. I have driven a new Ford Fusion and Expedition and got similar behavior. Come on Ford.. you guys have made so many improvements over the years, maybe ditch the wal mart brand transmission. I have the 6dp by the way. I test drove a eco boost 10 speed and felt some jerk on and off. I love my truck, I am very happy I went with Ford. I have gotten allot of compliments how nice the truck rides and comfort. We'll see how we're doing at 10k miles.

Edmunds Summary Review of the 2017 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew

Which F-150 does Edmunds recommend?
Several engines are available for the F-150, but one is a standout. The newly redesigned 3.5-liter V6 and its accompanying 10-speed automatic are an extremely appealing combo, and we'd have a hard time picking a different engine from the F-150 lineup. The Lariat offers a good balance between luxury and everyday pickup usability, so we'd go with that one. It's not much more than the XLT equipped with the 302A package, with which it shares most of its features. And since we're social creatures here at Edmunds, we'd give our friends breathing room that only the cavernous SuperCrew affords.

Driving
4.0The 2017 Ford F-150's venerable 5.0-liter V8 isn't as quick as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost, but it's still got enough thrust to support an attractive tow rating. The basic goodness of the chassis and driving experience stays the same no matter which engine you buy.
Comfort
There's a lot to like about the F-150 Lariat. The front and rear seats both provide appropriate support and all-day comfort, and the cabin environment is quiet and calm. The FX4 off-road package does stiffen the ride somewhat, but never to objectionable levels — and it's an option.
Interior
4.0The F-150 Lariat gets high marks for everyday ease of use and interior quality. Combined with the ratings for comfort, it's simply a pleasant place to spend a full day on the road.
Utility
5.0The F-150 features plenty of anchor points in the bed to secure cargo, and interior storage is generous. The center armrest bin is positively huge, as are the door pockets, and there are clever spots to hold your personal items.
Technology
The Sync 3 infotainment system that comes on midtier and above F-150 models is quick to respond to user inputs and easy to use. Smartphone-friendly amenities such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also on tap to beam popular apps onto the touchscreen.
