Who woulda' thunk, me in a King Ranch!!
So here I am, searching craigslist, cars.com, the newspaper and anywhere else to replace my 15 yr old Dodge Ram Laramie for something with a backseat for my two growing kids. I mean I looked everywhere for about 2 years, harrassing car salesmen for the best deal, checking out Rams, Frontiers, F150s, Silverados, Tacomas and Tundras. Then I run across a small ad on craigslist for a 2006 King Ranch crew cab for $20,500, 37k miles. So I call and a previous caller had already talked her (yeah owned by a 55 yr old woman) down to $19.5k. So I made sure I was the 1st to see it, deposited $100 because it was in near mint condition and cannot believe it's mine.
F-150 Rocks
I am completely pleased with my F-150 Lariat. The interior is pure luxury. The handling is great and the performance is really good. This truck is extremely fun to drive. When I drive this truck it is like I am driving a truck version of a Lincoln.
America still beats the foreign trucks!
Bought this truck in January and have had no problems yet. This truck is sound when driving. Road noise is hardly noticeable, especially with wind gusts above 30 miles an hour. My truck actually has the 5.4 engine and this has plenty of power. The 3 valves per cylinder helps increase the overall performance of the vehicle. The dash controls are easy to reach and this truck has plenty of storage space. The tires provide good traction also.
Surprised!
I have always been a Ford customer for ever. I recently went from a F350 power stroke to the 2006 F150. I am a little unhappy about the drive. When I hit a bump in the road it hits hard through the whole truck. When I test drove them they seemed great but not the case with the one I bought. I thought maybe it was the 20" tires but have talked with some others and they don't have a problem. Gas mileage is not what I expected. Around town only 12.0 and on the highway the best I got was 16.2 empty. I guess I can live with the mileage, but the bad ride really gets to me. I don't even look forward to driving it anymore. I have about 2,000 miles on it now. Any ideas?
This is one AWESOME Truck!
I just bought this truck about a week ago, and LOVE driving it! So far, my only complaint is the fuel economy (14 city, 17 highway...not too bad for a full size truck I guess!). This should get better as the engine breaks in - I'm still under 1,000 miles on the odometer. I opted for the King Ranch F150, 2WD, SuperCrew, equipped with a sunroof & the 20" wheels. It feels like a very solid truck on the road, yet fits into the garage. It drives like a dream on the highway. It is very nicely appointed on the inside & out, and the King Ranch Castano leather is second to none! I HIGHLY recommend this truck to anyone who appreciates really nice trucks (my wife loves it too!).
