One Super Truck
I bought this 2002 truck new in 2003 with 27 miles on it. It has the 5.4 L engine in it with the XLT trim. At 8300 +- miles it was hit in the right front, $13,500 in damage. It was repaired and I still drive this truck today. It has 206,000 miles on it. The only maintenance that has been done, other that oil & filter @ 3,000 intervals , I have changed the plugs twice. Last year I had the front end gone through, replaced a few bushings. I still get an average 18 MPG at highway speeds. This has to be the best of the best. just like the rabbit it just keeps on going.

Approaching 9 Years and Still Going...
Bought this Supercrew new in the fall of 2002 for a great deal of $21900. They were making room for 2003 models. Had electronic console problem but fixed under warranty. Then later in years had recurrent problem with electronics, that local shops would keep replacing GEM to fix temporarily. Finally took it to dealer and they found a leak in the windshield seal that was allowing water into fuse box and GEM. Once that was fixed, no more issues!! Mechanically, AC, transmission always have worked great. Plan to keep on driving for years to come.
Best vehicle out there
You can ask anyone that has owned a F150 and they will tell you that nothing compares. I have owned many cars, trucks, and vans over the years, but the F150 is by far the best one! My truck is 11 years old now and is in mint condition. I just do regular maintenance and the truck just never stops running. It is very reliable and easy to work on. I have used it as a daily commuter and the other day I decided to take it off roading and it handled the ruff terrain very well. Before I bought the truck, I drove my Dad's F150 one day while visiting and ever since that moment I have been in love.
In love with this truck! But the spark plug issue
Bought it this year (2019). Have had this truck for 6 months. Replaced a bunch of parts on it because the guy we bought it off of neglected pretty badly. The only thing I'd say that they need to fix on the 4.6L is the problem with the spark plugs popping out I know that's a common problem had a really good mechanic shop put a sleeve in and never had a problem after that. So after replacing the parts from it being neglected she runs amazingly! Purrs just like a kitten, but runs like a beast! For some people on here giving bad reviews because their truck had high miles on it repairs are inevitable in every vehicle with high miles. Parts don't last forever. Also when you buy a used vehicle expect that you have to put some work into it. That's what every vehicle

This truck will last
Sure after nearly 300,000 miles, respairs and parts have needed replacing. Even the transmission. This truck has pulled and pulled many things from boats to other vehicles. The rear end had to be replaced. I can't complain though. That's just part of any vehicle. Repairs are inevitable. I am amazed that with so many miles, the original motor is still running strong.

8 years of ownership
Bought it for about $30k. I've had it for 8 years and 205,000+ miles. Pulled horse trailers up to 7000#. Probably have put over 60k miles towing loads. Have had both the transmission (probably didn't need to do it) and rear end rebuilt. Replaced about 6 of the coil packs. Replaced the leather on the front seats. Replaced the front rotors 3 times. On the 4th set of tires. Total repair costs about $5k. Overall I've been very satisfied. Burns about 1.5 quarts of oil every 3000 miles. Never has left me high and dry except when a battery went dead. It's been a great truck for what I've asked of it.
Worst Truck I ever owned
This has been a very bad purchase since day one. These trucks have a lot of major issues, including coil packs going out left and right every 20 to 35,000 miles, front wheel bearings going out every 25,000 miles, rear differential going out twice in 104,000 miles. This truck is not a heavy tower or abused off road, just very poor craftsmanship.
good truck great for work
2002 f150 5.4 200k this truck is good bought it with high miles its pretty fast but lack power when towing heavy things although the mpg is great for a 5.4 6000lbs truck around 17 mpg city and highway all highway i once did around 21-22 mpg real low cost maintenance so far brakes, battery, sparkplugs one bad COP front rotors are warped but their originals drove it 24 hours non stop just to refil and eat and had no problems drove it in mountains area and had no lack of power great truck overall could not ask for more now i want a mustang to cruise around
Still Happy With It
Bought new in November 2002. Generally still like the vehicle and like the styling better than the new F-150 except for the front end. Absolutely love how comfortable the vehicle is front and back, and the quality of the leather seats are very good and easy to maintain. Have had few problems except with the driver's side heated seat and the keyless entry system, both of which were repaired under warranty. The paint quality is excellent and there are still no rattles and squeaks after 4 1/2 years. The dash is starting to look dated now, especially when compared to the new models. Undercarriage has some rust which in my view is premature. Great power with the 5.4, but fuel economy is only OK.
F150 problems
The first 3 years the truck was a good truck. I use the truck for camping and to go a short distance to work. For the past year I have been getting water in the cab on the drivers side. I have tried to find where it is coming in at with no success. This year the ABS has died (the orange idiot light is on and ABS doesn't function). Haven't had time to investigate this yet to determine what the problem is. Three of the four doors are starting to bubble with rust at the base of the doors where the folds are at. The last issue is every so often the service engine soon light comes on. If it wasn't for these issues I would be really happy with the truck.
11 years and counting!
My truck turned 11 years old this year and is still running great! My brother had this truck before me and ran it out of fuel several times so i had to replace the fuel pump. Other than that, just routine maintenance, spark plugs, and one spark plug coil. Truck has ENOUGH power seeing as i dont tow anything, and has never left me stranded, even after driving it 13 hours straight. All original suspension. 120k miles.
Ford Crew cab
I spent numerous hours researching Ford, Chev & Dodge. I also drove several models of each brand to assure satisfaction and the comfort desired because I spend a lot of time in my truck. I also travel off the highway quite often.I spoke with employees of pipeline companies around the country because they also spend many hours off the highway. Most of the employees that I spoke to said that only Ford held up to the continual and dependable service reqired to do their job day in and day out. Two companies representives told me that their companies were getting rid of their Chev's.I have been completely happy with my Ford Truck.
VERY Disappointed
I only wish i could write a rave review like most of the other folks. I have always been told Ford makes the best trucks. This is my first Ford truck. Granted, its a 2002 and I bought it in 2012, but its been a money pit. I was unaware of the "blowing plugs" issue with certain years. Well, i have that year, I guess, and twice plugs have popped. according to complaints, Ford refuses to acknowledge and fix the problem. Now, I have to spend $250. and get new plugs every 30,000. miles. This truck has hurt me, financially. The plugs, heater core, motor for power windows, the shifter has a lot of play and is difficult to get in gear sometimes. I was told i could no longer be tightened and needed a new mechanism in the steering column, $500. The motor for the 4x4 just went, 1/2 of the interior dash lights have burnt out, and the heater blower motor is really noisy and ready to be replaced. add this to the regular stuff, and i'm tapped. many things i expect, but worrying about spark plugs malfunctioning, and getting hit with not-so-common problems is put a sour taste in my mouth about Ford's. Not sure i'd buy another Ford truck

Super Crew FX4 XLT
I love the truck, the FX4 rides good. Wish I would have gotten the 6 disc in dash CD player. Experienced a shutter problem in the rear. Dealer replaced the drive shaft and yoak assemble at 5000 miles. Still have the problems. Ford will look at it on 4/4/02.
2002 F-150 Awesome Truck
Truck has been great, like all Ford trucks. Wish I could say the same for some of their cars.
Where's the power
Made a mistake. This truck has no power but still only gets 12 to 13 MPG.
2002 F150 SUPERCREW XLT (FREE)
Unlike most folks, Mine was FREE. I won it at a company drawing. They paid everything, even my taxes. All i had to bring was ins. Now I already had a 97 GMC and a 99 F150 EXTRACAB, So i sold the lemon ie."GMC" and kept the two F150s. And I love the Supercrew it handles better than my ext cab. rides better. and gets the same mileage as my 6 cyl gmc. And it is just "the best". IF YOU PURCHASE ONE YOU WILL LOVE IT.
Don't buy a Ford F-150
Don't buy this vehicle, because (2) Ford Dealerships and the manufacturer will not take responsibility for a product that I spent $31,000 on.
Good truck, starting to rattle badly
This truck has been a workhorse for me on the highway. Some years I will put 35K on the truck. It handles well, holds the road great and takes strong winds in stride. This truck is very easy on tires, I got 70K on the factory set and will approach that with the second set.
misbuilt truck, shipped back to factory
My ford dealership rejected the truck from the factory. Misbuilt. Factory workers must have fallen asleep on the job the day my truck was made. A running board was missing, sunroof was misaligned, not to mention a couple other cockeyed trim pieces. Dealer said problem with the sunroof was the roof not the mechanism. The roof wasn't square! So the truck is being returned to the factory in Kansas City. Give the factory workers some coffee!
Gray Shadow on the Bayou
This F-150 has been one of the most enjoyable vehicles that I have ever owned. The truck is gray two toned and it does turn a lot of heads. I drive about 50/50 city vs hwy. The highway driving experience is very comfortable for myself and up to as many as 4 passengers. One of the most enjoyable and rewarding trips I've made was driving from Lafayette, LA. to Ada, OK. My mother and I left from Lafayette and picked up my aunt and uncle in Houston, Tx. From Houston we drove up to Oklahoma. I never one single complaint during the entire trip by either of the elderly family members.
Great Truck
This has been a great family vehicle. My family several trips during the year and this truck fits the bill. The interior is comfortable and the truck is fun to drive, And we can carry a large amount of luggage with us in the back. The only trouble has been a defective battery at 11000 miles, which the dealer replaced and the fold down console on the front seat had to be replaced because the leather seperated from the console. It was covered by the warrenty. I have been very please with my truck.
Great Vehicle
I've owned my SuperCrew for just over two years now. I have 32k miles on it and just took it in for two minor repairs before the 36k mile warranty expires. A plastic trim piece under the front bumper developed cracks and the a seal of the sliding rear window came loose. That's it. They replaced the whole rear window with a better design and the plastic trim piece was replaced as well. I have the 4.6L version and loaded on a long trip it will get 18 mpg. Amazing for something so huge.
Blue Oval Power!
I've got the 2002 F-150 lariat supercrew with the FX4 off road package. This truck rules! It looks better than the chevy and the dodge, AND has everything you could want or need in a truck. Despite what some say this truck has plenty of power I can spin the 265/70/17's, and it can haul those broke down chevy's to the junk yard with no problem. Bottom line this is THE truck to own, problem is everybody does...
My Truck
I originally was shoping for the extended cab F150 but fell in love with the super crew! I love driving it and love the looks I get as a little girl swinging this big truck around. The truck is easy to handle, comfortable for long trips and parks and backs with ease. My husband is driving it now and I am having to fight to get it back from him. The purchase of this truck is probably the best vehicle purchase I have made. It is large enough to haul my horse trailer and gardening supplies with out being over imposing. I wouldn't trade this truck for anything.
My little red truck!
Searched long and hard for this truck. I looked at the 2005 and was not fond of the looks and even less fond of the 2009 either! I found the color, red, the right options and low mileage by searching the internet endlessly. I put a K&N cold air intake on it, with helped with power and got some improvement on the mileage, not great, it is a 5.4 after all! Drove it from CA to FL and was very comfortable at the end of the day. Got 21mph one time going across Texas. Avg 19.5 most of the trip. Handled great in the snow of N. Arizona. Love my truck and will be keeping her a long time.
4Dr SuperCrew 5.4L V8 4x4
I absolutely love this truck, it's features are fanatastic. It is so amazingly fun to drive. The only negative aspect of this vehicle is the fuel consumption. I put on about 200- 290 miles a week on the vehicle, and I get about 12-13 miles a gallon. Now, I really baby it, but if you step on the gas, you can watch the fuel needle move. Other than that, it is perhaps one of my best vehicles I have driven.
King Ranch is worth the money
Great interior, super ride, quiet, and with the 5.4 great power.
Best for Domestics
My company take-home vehicle is a 2001 Ford Supercrew 4x4 Lariat, fully loaded including moon roof and offroad package. The ride, power, versatility and refinement makes my fully loaded 2001 Dodge Quadcab 4x4 SLTplus seem crude and cheaply built. GM has better engines (IMO) but build quality and materials are not up to Ford either and have <blah> styling (my 2000 Tahoe a testament to that).
Awesome truck!
An awesome truck! More torque than a chevy of the same size motor. For it's size, pretty good mileage. A FX4 Lariat Supercrew getting 18-20 mpg.
Nicest ride in the truck catergory
I have owned many new for trucks and this has to be the town car of all of them. I have driven all the other makes that are compatible to this vehicle and none compare. This vehicle has performed flawless for us with no visits back to the dealer.
Ford F-150 supercrew
I bought a new '03 and I love it. The only thing that I wish it had was more horsepower and better gas mileage. I have the 5.4L and I still think it needs like 50 more horsepower.
1st impressions
Purchased used 2002 SuperCrew with 35000 miles in 04/06. So far it has performed flawlessly. Gas mileage on the 5.4 is in line with published amount. Very comfortable ride.
Joe's F-150 Supercrew
This is the best car/truck I have ever owned. It fits all of my needs. Great riding, driving vehicle. Feels very solid and safe. Has been flawless.
The Best Truck I will ever own
Good power,good looks,great power,I love it
Fantastic family truck!!!!
Excellent family truck. the 4.6 doesn't hog too much gas either.
Super Crew FX4
I have a little over 7000 miles on my Super Crew with no vists to the dealer except for regular maintenance. It's a pleasure to drive in town and on the highway. Due to the step in height, I would recommend some sort of running board.
Big Red
My first Ford in 35 years. I'm impressed with the ride, quality and overall "truck". A smooth and quality product all around.
dont you just luvit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
from the styling on the outside to the comfortable seating inside whether it be leather or cloth seating this ford supercrew truck is just about everything a person could want or need.
Great 4-door Truck
I have only had this truck for two months. So far it is flawless. Some of the other reviews I read said the gas milage was bad. I had a Dodge Dakoda with the small V8 before I got the Ford and it averaged 18 mpg. I have the large V8 in this one and I average 17 mpg. So I feel the mpg is good for a large pickup. I am very happy with the Ford F150 SuperCrew.
My review
I love my Ford F-150, because it's like a part of me, it's like my brother, it's always dependable. yours truly, Billy-bobb
Unbiased Review!
This review is brought to you by an owner of both a 2001 Chevy Silverado 4DR/4WD and a 2002 Ford F150 SCREW. I love my Ford more than my Chevy. However the Chevy is more comfortable the seats just feel better. The Chevy has better power however the Ford has a smoother Transmission. The Chevy drivers door molding began to fall apart 3 weeks into ownership i.e. the speaker fell out and the lock slide fell off. Pretty cheap design. The Ford has been great it only has 3800 miles on it since August it's my weekend Truck.
Ford tough
After researching, driving and comparing almost every 4 door truck on the market I found that the F150 Screw couldn't be beat. I have had it for almost a year and haven't had one problem. I couldn't be happier with it and HIGHLY recommend it.
Nice truck
Love the truck, love the power, love the style. Not completely satisfied with the manufacture of the truck...loose parts, missing parts..nothing major,,but could prove important as the truck gets older...Needed front end alignment in the first 5000 miles...found this unusual...
Great Truck
Great Truck
F150
Comfortable Ride and convenient features. 4x4 is excellent in the snow. Plenty of room in bed with the optional bed extender.
King Ranch Rules
After driving a Lightning the last two years I wanted a vehicle that could hold 4 large adults with ease. The Super Crew version of the F150 does that, and the King Ranch with its 4 leather bucket seats does that in style. Power (5.4L) and handling is not what the Lightning is but what truck is?
Sweet Ride
I purchased the F-150 Lariat 4x4 crew cab because of the interior room and the ride. The ride is better than most passenger vehicles and SUV's! I've received numerous complements about the size, looks, and interior room of this vehicle.
The Ranch
problems with differental leaking
BEST TRUCK BUILT
THIS TRUCK IS THE MOST SOLIDLY BUILT VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN. IT HAS A 5.4 LITER ENGINE WHICH HAS PLENTY OF POWER. I'VE ADDED BIGGER & WIDER TIRES FOR BETTER WET WEATHER DRIVING. THIS TRUCK IS DEFINITELY BETTER QUALITY THAN FRIEND'S 2002 DODGE TRUCK.
