2002 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4dr SuperCrew King Ranch 4WD Styleside SB (4.6L 8cyl 4A)

Review

I have owned many new for trucks and this has to be the town car of all of them. I have driven all the other makes that are compatible to this vehicle and none compare. This vehicle has performed flawless for us with no visits back to the dealer.

Best Features

The ride and handling are best of all, but overall the total aspect of the vehicle is excellent.

My first Ford in 35 years. I'm impressed with the ride, quality and overall "truck". A smooth and quality product all around.

Review

Bought new July '02. Added step-up bars, factory bedliner and Class III tow package. Pulled a large trailer across Desert Southwest during July/August of 2003 with no overheating worries. Very slow to tow, couldn't exceed 55 mph fully loaded. Averaged about 8 mpg at that awful speed with 3 children riding in crewcab. Transferred towing duty to wife's 2003, 3/4 ton Suburban and all are much happier. The Supercrew is still rock-solid reliable, comfortable, and strong. I hope Ford can keep up the good work because the Dodges, Toyotas and Nissans are really coming on strong.

Best Features

Adjustable pedals are great. (me 6'2", she 5'3"). Insanely reliable so far. (28K) Short bed handier than I expected. Looks grew on me quickly. Now prefer to the revamped F-150's. Comfort on looong trips. Holds the five of us well. Really like the front seat grab handles for climbing in.

Worst Features

GM's four wheel steering is awesome. The 4.6L was very disappointing with low mileage (13 mpg, then 15 mpg after broken in) and insufficient towing power. (6000 lb. trailer) Marker lamps are cheap and I love them - make 'em standard. Tailgate too hard to remove quickly. Really need a diesel option.

Review

I absolutely love this truck, it's
features are fanatastic. It is so
amazingly fun to drive. The only
negative aspect of this vehicle is the
fuel consumption. I put on about 200-
290 miles a week on the vehicle, and I
get about 12-13 miles a gallon. Now,
I really baby it, but if you step on
the gas, you can watch the fuel needle
move. Other than that, it is perhaps
one of my best vehicles I have driven.

Worst Features

Improved fuel economy Higher horsepower out of the 5.4L

Review

Truck has been great, like all Ford
trucks. Wish I could say the same for
some of their cars.

Best Features

I takes a beating and comes back for more.

Worst Features

Build it to pass the NIHS Insurance crash test. I don't believe it will make a safer truck but consumers will feel better about buying it.
