The Paint is Peeling

I love the exterior styling. I have the sport model. However within 500 miles the paint began to peel and the muffler began to make loud popping noises as the vehicle warmed up or cooled off.The dealership said the paint could be spot touched up and that the noise from the muffler was normal. I wanted the vehicle repainted and the muffler replaced. When I requested this I was told no on the muffler ( the noise is so loud you can hear it 20 feet away every time it is started or turned off) . In fairness to Ford the only paint peeling is on the body clad molding. It was also peeling on several other new units on 2 different lots and was verified by techs at both locations.

Ford Never Again

I drive my Ford for work. Most of my miles are highway miles. The air conditioner went out early on. At 46,600 miles the transmission is out. It is out of warranty. The dealership did pick up $1000 of the $2k bill. A transmission should not go out at 46k miles. Funny thing is I had a Taurus that the air went out early and the transmission dropped at 60k. Ford seems to have problems with these. This is the last Ford I will ever buy. If you have to have a Ford-buy the extended warranty.

Rattle Trap

This is my 3rd Expedition and by far this is the worst in quality. This is a complete rattle trap. We have had mirrors replaced, motors replaced, ash trays replaced, front ent taken off - reassembled and re-installed, insulation added to doors. Molding in rear replaced due to coming apart. Re-tweeked and re-tweeked and still cannot fix the passenger side doors from rattling. When speaking with sales and management at Ford, all I get is "Yours must have been made on either a Monday or Friday". Now Ford says that it could be a hot/cold flexing problem which may not be repaired. After the 5th time in the shop, Ford Corp wont even call me back.

CAN'T CAR WASH

Beautiful black exp. I love it. Except that everytime I get washed, I have to spend up to half an hour wiping the water/wax that drains from the mirror areas, the door handles, the real window and assorted other collection points. If you don't wipe, it streaks as you drive and looks like hell. I like to keep this baby clean but this is too much trouble. For this reason alone, I would never buy another Ford SUV or truck. Drives me nuts.

Never again!

Had problems with the steering and rust on the rear door while under warranty. Had problems with the differential seals 39,000. Brake seals went at 40,000; Caliper froze and destroyed front rotor at 51,000; Same caliper froze at 102,000 replaced rotor, break line, seals. Front bearing replaced at same time; 2 months later at 104,000 rear wheel bearing went. Never use this for off road and very minimal light towing. All highway miles and very costly to own. Beware!
