2003 Ford Expedition SUV Eddie Bauer Rwd 4dr SUV (4.6L 8cyl 4A)

Review

This is the in my opinion rates top in
its class for comfort, reliability, and
safety. We purchased this vehicle
mostly because of safety features and
reliability. The only thing I would
change would be the engine size, when
towing a large boat it could use a bit
more power.I should have purchased the
(5.4L) insted of the (4.6L).

Best Features

Climate Control Seats (A/C)

Worst Features

NONE!

2003 Ford Expedition SUV XLT FX4 4WD 4dr SUV (5.4L 8cyl 4A)

Review

Traded a 99 GMC Yukon for our 2003 FX4.
Great ride, seats 8, tons of air bags,
LATCH system, fold flat seats, pull up
middle seat for the baby.

Best Features

I am 6'3 and can sit with 2 others in the 3rd row. Lay down all the seats and you can load it full of lumber! Tube steps, FX4 shocks, Home Link, in dash 6cd, Leather seats.

Worst Features

Ford needs to work on the rattles! It took 2 1000 mile road trips to figure out that the FX4 body moulding rattles at 70 mph.

Review

The new design is top notch, congrats
Ford. I have been towing a 6000 lb
boat each weekend this Summer of 400+
miles (10.5 MPG). Plenty of power, new
independent suspension is awesome, rear
axle sways (&bounces) when towing -
expected though since it is no longer a
solid axle. Hiway MPG avg is 19.
Turning radius is better then previous
years. The lower center of gravity is
noticable when cornering. It looks
like we are going to keep this one for
awhile.

Best Features

DVD system, Sound system with plenty of BASS. Smoother Ride, Folding Rear Seat (and plenty of room back there for 3 people). For safety, side canopy, rear view tilt down, backup sensors, etc, etc. This is truely a family alternative to the mini van. (

Worst Features

Note2PreviousPoster - seat memory only works in park. Stiffen rear suspension when towing. Adjustable headrests that lean forward. Retracting Side mirrors - Won'tFitInA9ftGarageDoor. Provide option of rubber flooring similar to Sport Trac. Remove Brake Dust on the front discs.

Review

We love the commanding view of the road
and the smooth ride. VERY comparable
to the "Luxury SUV's". The interior is
very luxurious with incredibly
comfortable leather. The engine could
be a little more powerful but it's a
truck...how quick does it really need
to be? It has plenty of power for
towing but not as quick as others on
the road.

Best Features

Leather seats. DVD system has wireless head phones that make the ride so QUIET with kids. Lot's of room for camping equipment and the ability to get you to the site.

Worst Features

More powerful engine. Full economy (obviously). Could REALLY use power folding mirrors since the truck is so wide and most garages aren't.

Review

Great car/truck. Have put on 4,500
miles both in-town and on the road.
Not one problem, fun to drive. Great
room for a large family of big people.
i am 6'4'', 300 lbs and find it the
most comfortable ride i have
experienced in 20 years (of course I
wasn't 300 lbs all those years either).

Best Features

Interior, especially the leg room in the third seat area.

Worst Features

More power, better gas milage. Just dreaming.
