2004 Ford Excursion XLT 4WD 4dr SUV (6.8L 10cyl 4A)

I have found the excursion to be a
worthy competitor to the chevy
suburban. Although gas mileage is
slightly worse than the chevy, the
power and driveability of the excursion
is unequaled. The steering is more
responsive then the chevy even though
it is some seven inches longer and
approx. 1900 lbs heavier. Do not be
intimidated by the size of this
vehicle. On the exterior it seems
almost too big to control, but when in
the drivers seat control is all you
will feel. The high stance of the
excursion provides superior visability
in city and highway traffic. Noise
levels are at minimum even when on the
highway passing big rigs.

Best Features

Approx. 48 cubic feet of storage without moving any of the seats, and an unbelievable 100 cubic feet when you remove the third seat and fold the second seat. I can fit a 4'x8' sheet of plywood in the back with room to spare all the way around!!

Worst Features

I would change the location of the 4wd drive controls. They are located on the right side of the steering wheel on the dash. This position requires the driver to move his head to the right slightly to see them. I would also like to see an optional full time traction control system.
