2004 Ford Escape XLT 4WD 4dr SUV (3.0L 6cyl 4A)

Have owned my AWD Escape XLT V6 for 15 trouble free months now and I continue to be impressed by the overall quality and versatility of this little SUV. Car-like ride, powerful engine, excellent handling and braking capability. I live on a small farm and occasionally have to drive it over some rough terrain. It is a tough little SUV, and Ford was smart enough to put all-terrain tires on the Escapes. This is a definite advantage over the Honda CR-V , Toyota RAV-4 and several other "pretenders." Would highly recommend the Escape to anyone.

Best Features

Moon roof, leather seating, 6-CD Changer, lots of cargo space with back seats down.

Worst Features

Gear shift on the steering column (the '05's have corrected this). Horrid gas mileage. Doesn't get close to the gas mileage on the window sticker. I'm getting about 18 mpg, which is terrible considering my F-250 4x4 Power Stroke Diesel is getting 16.7.
