Aerostar: A reliable, if staid, steed.
By Asher Lawson on

1993 Ford Aerostar XLT 3dr Minivan

Bought new off the lot in 1993, traveled over 100000 miles and still going without a complaint, despite neglect and poor maintenance.

Small problem with left turn signal, works intermittently.

Overall, a solid, if dull investment. Cheap bulk transport.

Best Features

Removable rear seats make hauling easy. Supplies and equipment for any conceivable project, as well as garbage to be taken to the down dump is no problem at all. Simply remove the seats and chuck the stuff in back. Easy as pie.

Worst Features

It could use more power, and all models should have come with AWD standard, ours can make it up our driveway when it snows. Other than that, the reliability of the electronics concerning the left turn signal is rather suspect.
